Alex vs HeyMilo (2026): Features, Pricing and Which to Pick

Both sell an AI recruiter to staffing firms and high-volume employers. The differences show up in channels, candidate controls and which ATS names they publish.

NTRVSTA wrote this Alex vs HeyMilo comparison. We make a competing product, so we only use facts from Alex's and HeyMilo's own sites and public news, and we include a third option at the end. Neither Alex nor HeyMilo publishes a price, so we focus on what each product does.

The short answer

Alex vs HeyMilo is a comparison of two venture-backed AI recruiters chasing the same buyers: staffing firms and employers with large applicant flows. Alex is the better fit if you want phone-first interviews that need no app or internet, plus government-ID checks and a coordinator that books the next round. HeyMilo is the better fit if you want candidates to choose between voice, video, SMS and forms, and you need a published list of staffing ATS integrations such as Bullhorn, Avionté and JobDiva. Both are active and independent.

Where Alex is stronger

  • Phone interviews that work anywhere. Alex says its phone interview needs no webcam, app or internet, copes with interruptions, and can book the next round during the call.
  • Identity checks. Its Identity option compares a government ID with a live selfie taken during the interview, checking the document, expiry date, face and name. HeyMilo lists ID verification as a trust signal but publishes less detail.
  • More stated languages. Alex says 30 languages; HeyMilo says 20+.
  • A firm line on rejection. Alex's ethical AI page says the AI never auto-rejects a candidate without human input, and it says it does not build profiles by scraping LinkedIn, GitHub or Stack Overflow.
  • Larger funding and named enterprise customers, including EY, Randstad, Dow Jones and Upwork.

Where HeyMilo is stronger

  • Named staffing integrations. HeyMilo lists the systems agencies use, such as Bullhorn, Avionté, JobDiva and Manatal, plus Salesforce. Alex publishes a count but not the names.
  • Candidate-friendly controls. A "Don't Interrupt Me" button lets candidates say they're still thinking, and HeyMilo says background noise won't count against them. Candidates who drop before 70% can rejoin and continue.
  • A screen beyond conversation. The AI Scenario Assessment scores how well candidates prompt and guide an AI through a task, a format Alex doesn't publish.
  • Clear data deletion for candidates. A "My Data" link on the interview page lets candidates delete their HeyMilo data.
  • Dealbreaker rules. Employers can set knockout questions that disqualify automatically, useful at very high volume.

Pricing compared

There are no public prices to compare. Alex sends buyers to a 30-minute demo. HeyMilo's form asks how many people are on your team, which ATS you use, and how many hires and applicants you have each month, which tells you volume is central to its quote. Before you sign with either, ask how a completed interview, an abandoned interview and an SMS-only screen are each counted, and whether proctoring or ID checks cost extra.

Who should pick which

  • Agency on Bullhorn, Avionté or JobDiva and you want the integration confirmed in writing now: HeyMilo.
  • Remote hiring where identity fraud is a real risk: Alex.
  • Candidates who'd rather text than talk: HeyMilo's SMS and form screens.
  • Candidates without reliable internet: Alex's phone interview.
  • You want strict knockouts for minimum requirements: HeyMilo's dealbreaker questions.

A third option: NTRVSTA

NTRVSTA is agentic AI for sourcing, recruiting and hiring, built to run inside the ATS and calendar you already have. Compared with these two, it matters most when you also hire for technical roles, because our live AI interviews adjust difficulty answer by answer and include an exam library and whiteboard for system design. For hourly hiring where SMS apply is the core flow, Alex and HeyMilo are closer to that job. Book a short demo if that mix sounds like yours.

Questions

Do Alex and HeyMilo publish their prices?

No. Alex's pricing page offers a 30-minute demo, and HeyMilo's pricing page is a demo form asking for team size, ATS, monthly hires and monthly applicants. Neither lists plans or a per-interview rate.

How long does an interview take on each?

Alex's candidate guide says its interviews usually take 15 to 30 minutes. HeyMilo's docs say voice and video interviews take about 10 to 20 minutes, and its AI Scenario Assessment about 20 to 30 minutes. Employers set the length for their own roles.

Which ATS systems does each one support?

HeyMilo names 15, including Greenhouse, Bullhorn, Avionté, JobDiva, Workday, iCIMS and Salesforce. Alex says it has 33+ officially supported ATS integrations but does not list them on its homepage, so ask for the list.

Do they reject candidates automatically?

Alex says no candidate is auto-rejected by AI without human input. HeyMilo lets employers set dealbreaker questions that auto-disqualify, and shows a human-in-the-loop shortlist for the rest.

Which has stronger anti-cheating tools?

Both have them. Alex offers Proctor and a government-ID plus selfie check. HeyMilo lists AI-generated answer detection, proctoring for off-screen glances and multiple voices, and voice biometrics rolled into a trust score.
