Best AI recruiters in 2026

Seven AI recruiters compared on how much of the recruiter's job they actually do, where they live in your stack, and what they cost.

Full disclosure: NTRVSTA wrote this list of the best AI recruiters, and our agent, Carolina, is one of the seven picks. Facts about other products come from their own sites or news coverage, linked at the bottom.

TL;DR

An AI recruiter does the recruiter's job steps on its own: find people, write to them, screen, interview and book the next round. The products below differ most in how many steps they cover and whether they work inside your current ATS. For the whole loop with human sign-off, start with NTRVSTA, hireEZ and Alfa.

  • Best for an end-to-end AI recruiter inside the ATS and HR tools you keep, with public pricing: NTRVSTA (us)
  • Best for enterprise sourcing reach plus AI phone screens: hireEZ
  • Best for fraud, identity and proctoring checks on first-round interviews: Alex
  • Best for staffing and healthcare teams that live on SMS and WhatsApp: Sense
  • Best for a low-cost sourcer that books meetings from a job title: Pin

What actually matters when choosing an AI recruiter

Map the steps first. List the five things a recruiter does per opening (source, reach out, screen, interview, schedule) and mark which ones each vendor does without a person. Pin sources and books meetings but leaves the interview to you. Alex and Tenzo start at the application. Only a few try to cover the whole path. Our explainer on what an AI recruiter is breaks the steps down further.

Next, check where the AI recruiter lives and who signs off. A tool that sits on your ATS keeps your records and reports where they are; one that replaces it is a bigger project. Then ask what the agent may do alone. hireEZ says nothing moves forward without approval, Pin lets you switch each step between hands-on and autopilot, and NTRVSTA sets a rule per action. Our guide to AI recruiting guardrails lists the questions to ask.

Last, look at the interview and the paperwork behind it. A scripted phone screen and a live interview that adapts to each answer give very different evidence. If you hire in New York City, ask for the vendor's Local Law 144 bias audit and what it covers. Then compare cost per role at your real volume.

1. NTRVSTA (us)

NTRVSTA's AI recruiter is called Carolina, and we pitch her as your AI Head of Talent. She sources candidates for an open role and runs outreach by email, SMS and WhatsApp. She scores and ranks every resume against the job and explains the ranking. She runs live AI interviews, as a video avatar or by audio, that adapt to each answer, for technical and non-technical roles, around the clock and in multiple languages, with a score breakdown, video snippets and a shareable report. Then she books the next round or a panel on Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoom or Calendly.

We rank ourselves first because of where Carolina works and how she is controlled. She runs inside the ATS, HRIS, payroll and calendar tools you already use; our list covers 70 systems, plus a REST API and SFTP, and setup takes a few days depending on customization. You set each action to suggest, ask first or auto, and offers and compensation changes always wait for a person. Ask her pipeline questions in plain English, or read her morning digest in Slack or Teams (see the Slack integration). Our NYC Local Law 144 bias audit by Asenion, finalized October 20, 2026, covers the AI interviews and is on our compliance page. See pricing: Starter is $0 for one role and 10 AI interviews, and Team is $490 a month billed annually for 60.

Where NTRVSTA isn't the right fit: we are newer and smaller than most names here and have no published case studies yet. We don't publish a profile database, so hireEZ or Pin will show you more search filters and reach. We are not an ATS. If you want human recruiters running the search, Paraform or Dover fits better.

Best for: in-house teams that want one AI recruiter from sourcing to scheduling, inside systems they already own.

2. hireEZ (EZ Agent)

hireEZ, formerly Hiretual, now leads with EZ Agent, which it describes as enterprise hiring run by agents on top of your ATS. hireEZ says its agents source from more than 1 billion profiles across 45+ platforms, read and rank every application, run email, SMS and InMail sequences, and book interviews through an AI Scheduler. Its screens are conversational AI calls by voice or chat built on your questions; hireEZ doesn't say the questions adapt. hireEZ says nothing moves forward without your approval.

Solo starts at $494 a month with a 7-day free trial; Enterprise pricing isn't published. See NTRVSTA vs hireEZ for a side-by-side.

Best for: enterprise TA and staffing teams whose biggest need is sourcing reach.

3. Alfa AI

Alfa, a London startup, says it runs a role end to end: it writes the brief with you, publishes job ads, sources from 800M+ profiles, reaches out on its own, and screens people through an audio or video interview with Lisa, its AI avatar. It then syncs scored candidates into your ATS; Alfa lists 75+. Alfa describes itself as not a tool a recruiter operates, and says humans stay in control of decisions.

Pricing isn't published, and Alfa doesn't list its outreach channels or scheduling. It announced a GBP 1M seed round in 2026. Read NTRVSTA vs Alfa AI for more.

Best for: UK and European teams and agencies that want sourcing plus avatar interviews.

4. Alex

Alex, formerly Apriora, starts where applications land. It says it scores applications for fraud risk, screens resumes, runs an always-on first-round interview by phone or video, books qualified people onto team calendars and rediscovers past candidates in your ATS. Its optional proctoring and ID-to-selfie match are unusual on this list.

Alex doesn't source new people from outside your ATS, and pricing isn't published. It announced $20M in total funding in September 2025 and says it supports 33+ ATS integrations. Compare details on NTRVSTA vs Alex.

Best for: teams that worry most about fake or assisted candidates in the first round.

5. Sense AI Recruiter

Sense built its name on SMS and WhatsApp messaging for staffing and healthcare. Its AI Recruiter is pitched as a virtual team of agents for sourcing, engagement, screening and scheduling, where recruiters set priorities and guardrails and the agents raise the decisions that need a person. Its Voice AI places real-time phone screens and returns scorecards and summaries. Its sourcing matches people already in your ATS or CRM.

Sense publishes starting prices: the AI Recruiter from $3,000 a month and the full platform from $7,000. See NTRVSTA vs Sense.

Best for: staffing and high-volume healthcare teams that want text-first engagement and phone screens.

6. Pin

Pin starts from a job title. Pin says it builds criteria, matches candidates from 850M+ profiles with an explained fit score for you to approve, sends multi-step sequences from your own Gmail or Outlook, answers replies from a knowledge base and books interviews on your calendar. Each step can be hands-on, co-pilot or full autopilot. Pin has no AI interviewer.

Pricing is public: a free plan, Solo at $100 per user a month (annual), Professional at $135 annual or $179 monthly, and custom Enterprise. In September 2026 Pin's company page was removed from LinkedIn; Pin says the product is fully operational and does not depend on LinkedIn. More on NTRVSTA vs Pin.

Best for: agencies, founders and lean in-house teams that want affordable sourcing and outreach that ends in a booked call.

7. Tenzo (Morgan)

Tenzo's AI recruiter, Morgan, runs voice interviews by phone or video at any hour, alongside resume review, fraud detection, scheduling and rediscovery of past candidates in your ATS. Tenzo says a de-biasing layer strips protected-class details before scoring, and its agents write notes back to 57+ ATSs.

Pricing is scoped to your volume and roles, so there is no public number. See NTRVSTA vs Tenzo.

Best for: staffing agencies and high-volume employers that want screening with fraud checks.

Questions

What does an AI recruiter actually do?

It does recruiter tasks without a person clicking through each one. Depending on the product, that means finding candidates, writing and sending outreach, scoring applicants, running a first-round interview and booking the next round. Few do all five, so check coverage before price.

Will an AI recruiter replace my recruiting team?

No product on this list says it should. They take over repetitive steps so recruiters spend time with hiring managers and finalists. hireEZ, Alex and NTRVSTA all keep people on the decisions that matter, and NTRVSTA always holds offers and compensation changes for a person.

Do I need a new ATS to use an AI recruiter?

Usually not. Most tools here, including NTRVSTA, hireEZ, Alfa, Pin, Sense and Tenzo, sit on top of the ATS you already run and write results back to it. Confirm your ATS is on the vendor's list.

How much does an AI recruiter cost?

Published prices on this list run from Pin's free plan and $100 per user a month, to hireEZ from $494 a month and the Sense AI Recruiter from $3,000 a month. NTRVSTA has a free Starter plan and a Team plan at $490 a month billed annually. Alfa, Alex and Tenzo quote on request.
