NTRVSTA vs Tenzo AI: comparing two live AI interviewers

Two real AI interviewers with different centers of gravity: recruiting automation for staffing, or depth in the interview itself.

A note before we start: this page was written by NTRVSTA, which competes with Tenzo AI. We kept our description of Tenzo to what Tenzo publishes on its own site, and we link those pages in the Sources list.

The short answer

Tenzo AI and NTRVSTA both run live AI interviews, so the choice comes down to what surrounds the interview. Tenzo pitches an AI recruiter, Morgan, that also reviews resumes, checks for fraud, schedules, and rediscovers candidates in your ATS, across 40+ languages and 57+ ATS connections, per Tenzo. Choose Tenzo if you're a staffing agency or high-volume employer that wants one agent covering many recruiting steps. Choose NTRVSTA if you want adaptive difficulty, deep technical coverage with a whiteboard, published pricing and a published NYC Local Law 144 audit.

How NTRVSTA works

NTRVSTA concentrates on the interview. Candidates take it at any hour, without booking a slot, and meet an AI interviewer that is either a video avatar (ready-made, or tailored to look like your recruiter) or a voice. As the conversation goes on, the interviewer raises or lowers difficulty based on what it hears. You end up seeing the ceiling of each candidate's skill, not just whether they cleared a fixed bar.

Depth is where we put our effort. Engineers can be tested on Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, React, Angular, Node.js, AI/ML or DevOps tools, and system-design rounds use an interactive whiteboard. Non-technical roles get STAR behavioral questions and soft-skill topics like communication and leadership. Hints are available, so you can see how a person uses a nudge. You get a score breakdown (technical skills, English proficiency, communication), video snippets and a shareable report.

AI resume scoring ranks applicants against the job description before interviews start. NTRVSTA connects to your ATS (Lever and others), and setup usually takes a few days.

How Tenzo AI works

Tenzo describes a team of AI agents led by an AI recruiter named Morgan. Morgan runs voice AI interviews by phone or video around the clock, and Tenzo's agents also handle resume review, fraud detection, scheduling and rediscovering past candidates already in your ATS. Tenzo says it reaches candidates through WhatsApp and email too.

Interviews are scored with what Tenzo calls transparent scorecards. Tenzo says a de-biasing layer removes protected-class information from transcripts before evaluation, that candidates can opt out of the AI interview or request accommodations, and that agents write notes and statuses back to the ATS. It lists SOC 2 Type 2 and GDPR and publishes a DPA. We didn't find NYC Local Law 144 or the EU AI Act mentioned on the pages we checked.

Tenzo says it works in 40+ languages and has 57+ two-way ATS integrations. Named customers include Agilus Work Solutions, Synergie Canada and Cascade Environmental, which fits its staffing focus.

When Tenzo is the better choice

  • You run a staffing agency and want a single AI recruiter to screen, schedule and rediscover candidates already in your database.
  • You need to reach candidates on WhatsApp or by phone call, which Tenzo lists as channels.
  • You need a wide connector list. Tenzo says it has 57+ two-way ATS integrations, more than we offer natively.
  • Your security review requires SOC 2 Type 2, which Tenzo lists and we don't publish.

Here's the honest read on NTRVSTA's limits. We do interviews and resume scoring; we don't replace your ATS or schedule beyond the interview itself. Our API isn't public yet. Hourly roles hired through SMS apply and chat scheduling are a better fit for Paradox or Fountain. If you want people, not AI, conducting the interview, Karat-style services fit better. And we're a smaller, newer vendor with fewer enterprise case studies published.

Pricing compared

Tenzo's pricing page doesn't list numbers. It says pricing is scoped to your hiring volume and roles, so expect a custom quote.

NTRVSTA's plans are all on our pricing section. Each interview minute costs 1 credit on audio or 3 credits with an avatar. Free Demo is $0 for 50 credits and 1 concurrent interview. Starter is $299/mo (1,500 credits, about 30 interviews, 3 concurrent). Growth is $699/mo (4,000 credits, about 80 interviews, 5 concurrent). Scale is $1,999/mo (12,500 credits, about 250 interviews, 15 concurrent, SLA). Enterprise is custom, with SSO/SAML, a dedicated CSM and on-prem available.

Growth works out to about $8.74 per interview at 80 a month, or $0.35 per minute. A 25-minute audio screen uses 25 credits, and the same screen with an avatar uses 75, so format is the biggest cost lever. Our AI interview pricing guide covers comparing that with volume-based quotes.

Who should pick which

  • If you're a staffing firm that wants screening, scheduling and rediscovery handled by one agent, pick Tenzo.
  • If your hardest hires are engineers and you want coding and system-design depth, pick NTRVSTA.
  • If you need phone or WhatsApp outreach as part of screening, pick Tenzo.
  • If you want to see prices and start on a free plan, pick NTRVSTA.
  • If a published NYC Local Law 144 audit is required, pick NTRVSTA.
