TestGorilla vs Vervoe (2026): Features, Pricing and Which to Pick

Both help you hire on skills instead of resumes. TestGorilla gives you a big self-serve library; Vervoe builds role-specific simulations and grades them with AI.

Transparency note: NTRVSTA wrote this page. We make a recruiting product that overlaps a little with both tools, so we kept to what TestGorilla and Vervoe publish on their own sites, and we mention a third option at the end.

The testgorilla vs vervoe choice is about how you want to measure skill. TestGorilla gives you a large ready-made library you can switch on today, much of it on a self-serve plan. Vervoe asks for a job description and builds a realistic simulation of the job, then grades the work with machine learning. Both reject the resume as the main filter.

The short answer

Pick TestGorilla if you want low-cost, self-serve skills testing with published prices, a free plan, resume scoring and optional asynchronous AI interviews. Pick Vervoe if you want role-specific job simulations built for you from the job description, explainable AI grading, proctoring and an annual third-party bias audit, and you're comfortable with quote-based enterprise pricing.

Where TestGorilla is stronger

TestGorilla's appeal is breadth and speed. Its library covers more than 350 skills tests plus job simulations and custom tests, and the free and Core plans let you build an assessment yourself without a sales call. Results are scored automatically, and resume scoring is included on every Assessments tier, the free one included.

  • Published, low entry pricing, with a free plan and about 25% off for annual billing.
  • AI interviews: three to nine structured questions with dynamic follow-ups, done on the candidate's own time.
  • Named ATS integrations on the Plus plan.
  • A sourcing product (Core $74 per seat a month, Plus $134, billed annually) if you also want to find candidates.
  • SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliance listed on its pricing page.

Where Vervoe is stronger

Vervoe's AI Assessment Builder reads your job description and drafts a simulation of the real work: a spreadsheet to fix, code to write, a customer message to answer on video. Its models grade and rank the responses with explainable scores. It also runs ID verification and proctoring, and collects performance feedback 120 days after hire to check whether the scores predicted success.

  • Role-specific tasks rather than generic tests.
  • An annual Holistic AI bias audit, with an NYC bias audit marked as verified.
  • ISO/IEC 27001, GDPR and SSO, per Vervoe.
  • Post-hire feedback that ties assessment scores to on-the-job results.

Pricing compared

TestGorilla lists its prices: Assessments Free ($0, 10 credits a month), Core from $215 a month and Plus from $520 a month, both billed annually. AI interviews cost two credits per candidate, and the full AI interview library sits on Plus. Vervoe's pricing page shows no numbers, just "Request pricing" and an enterprise feature list (SSO, regional data storage, uptime and support SLAs, generative AI detection).

If budget is tight or you need to start this week, TestGorilla's free and Core plans let you test the idea first. If you're running an enterprise evaluation, get Vervoe's quote and compare it with TestGorilla Plus, which is where custom tests, simulations and integrations live. See our TestGorilla pricing and Vervoe pricing pages.

A third option: NTRVSTA

To be clear, NTRVSTA is not an assessment library. If tests and simulations are what you need, one of these two is the better choice. Teams look at us when they want an agent, Carolina, to handle the steps around the assessment inside their ATS: finding people, ranking resumes, running a live interview and booking the next round. Plans are on our pricing section.

  • Live AI interviews that adapt follow-ups and difficulty in real time.
  • Sourcing with email, SMS and WhatsApp outreach.
  • Ranked resumes, each with a reason.

Questions

Is TestGorilla cheaper than Vervoe?

TestGorilla is easier to price because it publishes plans: a free plan, Assessments Core from $215 a month and Assessments Plus from $520 a month, both billed annually. Vervoe does not publish prices and asks you to request a quote, so you can't compare until you have one.

Does Vervoe have a free plan?

Vervoe's pricing page does not list a free plan or a trial. It shows a Request pricing button and a list of enterprise features. TestGorilla has a free plan with 10 assessment credits a month.

Which has a published bias audit?

Vervoe says it is independently audited for bias by Holistic AI each year, and lists an NYC bias audit as verified by Holistic AI. TestGorilla's site mentions planned audits and prompt tests that watch for bias and drift, but we did not find a published NYC Local Law 144 audit.

Do TestGorilla and Vervoe offer AI interviews?

TestGorilla sells AI interviews with three to nine structured questions and dynamic follow-ups that candidates complete on their own time. Vervoe offers chat and voice screening before its assessments, and does not describe a real-time AI interviewer.
