We wrote this, and NTRVSTA is one of the six Vervoe alternatives below, so you're reading a vendor's comparison. Our descriptions of Vervoe and the others stick to what each company publishes, linked in the Sources list at the bottom.
Vervoe is built around one idea: watch candidates do a slice of the job. Its AI Assessment Builder turns a job description into simulations (spreadsheets, code, video, text and multiple choice), and machine-learning models grade and rank the results. Teams compare Vervoe competitors when they want a conversation before or instead of a work sample, when they want prices before a sales call, or when they need resume scoring at the top of the funnel, which Vervoe doesn't list. Vervoe's ATS partners also aren't named on its site. If you hire on demonstrated skill and want to track how hires do after 120 days, though, Vervoe is hard to match.
The Vervoe alternatives at a glance
1. NTRVSTA (us)
Vervoe asks candidates to do the work. NTRVSTA asks them to talk it through. Our AI interviewer holds a live conversation, by video avatar or audio only, and adapts the difficulty to every answer, so you learn how someone reasons and where their knowledge runs out. Technical questions come from an exam library covering Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, React, Angular, Node.js, AI/ML and DevOps tools, and system-design rounds use an interactive whiteboard. For non-technical roles the interviewer uses STAR behavioral questions and tests communication, problem-solving and leadership. AI resume scoring ranks applicants against the job description before anyone is invited.
Our plans are on the pricing page, and our NYC Local Law 144 audit by Asenion is on our compliance page. The gaps compared with Vervoe: we don't build spreadsheet or file-based job simulations, we don't offer ID verification or proctoring, and we don't track post-hire performance. If a work sample is your main signal, Vervoe or TestGorilla will serve you better. Our NTRVSTA vs Vervoe page has the side-by-side.
Best for: teams that want to hear candidates explain their thinking in a first round, then save work samples for the shortlist.
2. TestGorilla
TestGorilla is the nearest like-for-like option with public prices. It offers 350+ automatically scored tests, job simulations and custom tests, and it sells AI interviews with 3 to 9 structured questions and dynamic follow-ups that candidates take in their own time. It also has a separate sourcing product for outreach.
A free plan includes 10 assessment credits a month. Assessments Core starts at $215/mo and Plus, which adds custom tests, job simulations and ATS integrations, at $520/mo, both billed annually. TestGorilla lists SOC 2 Type II and GDPR, and says planned audits watch for drift and bias.
Best for: smaller teams replacing Vervoe that want to start free and add simulations later.
3. iMocha
iMocha is the enterprise-scale option. It says it has 10,000+ validated coding, cognitive, domain and communication assessments, proctored tests, and skills inference for the existing workforce. Its AI interviewer, Tara, asks questions candidates answer out loud and follows up based on what they say, per iMocha. Published customers include Deloitte, EY, Capgemini and Ericsson.
Compared with Vervoe's unnamed ATS partners, iMocha spells out its connections (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors and Oracle). It also lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001:2022 certification. Like Vervoe, it asks you to contact sales for pricing.
Best for: large employers that want work-sample style testing plus workforce skills data from one platform.
4. CodeSignal
For technical hiring, CodeSignal replaces Vervoe's code tasks with dedicated coding assessments and live technical interviews, and adds an AI Interviewer that candidates speak with by phone or browser. CodeSignal says it asks follow-ups when answers are thin and offers prebuilt interviewer agents for sales, finance, marketing, recruiting and product roles. It also says it checks for fraud signals such as copy-paste and solution similarity, with optional full-service proctoring.
Unlike Vervoe, CodeSignal posts its prices. Paid on a yearly contract, the entry Build tier is $79/mo and the Grow tier, which adds sales, customer success and marketing interviewers, is $479/mo. The top Pro tier is quoted.
Best for: companies that hire engineers and go-to-market staff and want proven coding tests plus AI interviews.
5. Glider AI
Glider AI shares Vervoe's focus on proving skills and adding integrity checks, but it's tuned for staffing. Its Assess module covers technical and competency tests and coding simulations, Verify adds ID verification and AI proctoring, and Interview offers AI video, one-way video and live coding. Glider also lists an AI voice recruiter for phone screens. It integrates with staffing systems like Bullhorn and JobDiva and with vendor management tools like Beeline and Magnit.
If you sign with Glider, you're also signing with its future parent: Findem agreed on March 19, 2026 to acquire the company. Like Vervoe, Glider doesn't list prices.
Best for: staffing firms and contingent-workforce programs that need tests, proctoring and ID checks together.
6. Spark Hire
Spark Hire is the lighter option. Its behavioral assessment and one-way video interviews are each sold on their own, and Spark Hire says the video product summarizes and scores responses automatically. It also sells an ATS for small and medium organizations with AI resume review. It doesn't offer job simulations or coding tests.
Spark Hire posts its prices. Either product alone runs from $249 a month on a yearly plan ($299 if you pay monthly), and its entry ATS tier, Recruit Pro, from $335 a month.
Best for: SMBs that want behavioral screening and recorded video, not full job simulations.
When to stay with Vervoe
Stay with Vervoe if you trust a work sample more than any interview. Few tools here draft role-specific simulations from a job description and grade them with explainable scores the way Vervoe says it does. Its 120-day feedback loop, which compares assessment results with how hires actually perform, is rare in this category. Vervoe also says it has a verified Holistic AI NYC bias audit repeated every year, and its pricing page lists regional data storage, SSO, advanced generative AI detection and an uptime SLA. Customers such as Australia Post, Dentsu and Kroll suggest it holds up at scale.

Questions
What is Vervoe used for?
Vervoe is a skills assessment platform. It drafts job simulations and tests from your job description, grades and ranks candidates with machine-learning models, and adds chat and voice screening, ID verification and a 120-day post-hire feedback loop, according to Vervoe.
Which Vervoe competitor is the closest match?
TestGorilla and iMocha are the closest, since both sell large skills test libraries and job simulations. Glider AI is similar for staffing firms that need proctoring. If you want an interview rather than a test, NTRVSTA or CodeSignal's AI Interviewer fit better.
Does Vervoe publish pricing?
No. Vervoe's pricing page asks you to request pricing. TestGorilla, CodeSignal, Spark Hire and NTRVSTA all publish plan prices, and TestGorilla and NTRVSTA have free plans.
Can I run a skills test and an AI interview together?
Yes. TestGorilla and iMocha sell both in one product. NTRVSTA builds technical questions from its exam library into the interview itself, and it also integrates with assessment tools such as HackerRank and CodeSignal if you want to keep a separate test.
