Disclosure first: NTRVSTA wrote this guide and we make a competing recruiting product. We used only what Paradox and Humanly publish on their own sites, plus news coverage, and we suggest a third tool at the end.
Comparing paradox (olivia) vs humanly makes sense if you hire hundreds or thousands of people a year into frontline, healthcare, hospitality or service roles. Both platforms talk to applicants for you and get qualified people onto a calendar. The gap between them is breadth: what else each one wants to own.
The short answer
Choose Paradox if you want a mature text-and-chat assistant for frontline hiring at large brands, and particularly if you are a Workday shop, since Workday now owns Paradox. Choose Humanly if you want one vendor covering engagement across SMS, email, chat and voice, structured AI interviews in chat, voice or video, a ranked shortlist, a notetaker for live interviews, and sourcing. Neither publishes prices.
Side by side: Paradox (Olivia) vs Humanly
Where Paradox is stronger
Paradox is the longer-established name for conversational hiring at very large employers. Its customer page reads like a list of household names: Chipotle, 7-Eleven, Nestlé, General Motors, Houston Methodist. Olivia covers the whole early funnel in text, from conversational apply to booking and onboarding reminders.
- Language coverage claim. Paradox says Olivia detects 100+ languages and auto-translates conversations.
- Event and career-site tools. Useful for store openings, seasonal ramps and campus-style hiring days.
- Workday alignment. Paradox for Workday puts candidate texting directly onto Workday Recruiting.
- Single focus. If all you need is the candidate conversation done well, Paradox doesn't ask you to buy a suite.
Where Humanly is stronger
Humanly grew quickly by acquisition, and the product list shows it. Beyond conversational screening, it now sells an AI Interviewer, an AI Notetaker for the live rounds your team still runs, a Talent CRM, sourcing and an ATS. Qualifi, bought in 2025, brought phone and voice screening into the suite.
- More interview formats. Candidates can do a structured AI interview by chat, voice or video, and recruiters get a ranked shortlist with transcripts.
- Wider integration list. Humanly names nine enterprise systems, including Dayforce, UKG, iCIMS and Greenhouse.
- Sourcing included. Humanly lists a Source product and cites a 600M+ profile network.
- Coverage after the first screen. The notetaker records and summarizes later human interviews.
Pricing compared
Both vendors keep pricing behind a demo. Paradox's site has a demo request and no plan list. Humanly's site has a "Get a Demo" button and no pricing page we could find. That makes scope the main cost driver you control: Paradox for conversational apply and scheduling only, or Humanly for a bundle that may include interviewing, notetaking, CRM or ATS.
Ask each vendor to price the same scenario (annual hires, locations, languages, and the ATS you keep). Ask whether you can buy Humanly modules one at a time, and how Paradox's pricing differs if you buy it alongside Workday. Our Paradox pricing and Humanly pricing pages go deeper.

A third option: NTRVSTA
If your volume is mostly frontline and chat-based scheduling is the core flow, Paradox or Humanly fits better than we do. NTRVSTA suits teams whose harder roles (technical, professional, managerial) need sourcing and a deeper interview, while the ATS stays put. Our agent, Carolina, handles that work, and plans start at $0 on our pricing section.
- Outreach by email, SMS and WhatsApp to sourced candidates.
- Live AI interviews that change follow-ups and difficulty with each answer.
- An NYC LL144 bias audit for the AI interviews, published on our compliance page.
- Guardrails per action; offers and pay changes always wait for a person.
Questions
How are Paradox and Humanly different?
Paradox centers on Olivia, an AI assistant that moves applicants through apply, screening and scheduling over chat and SMS. Humanly sells a broader suite that adds structured AI interviews over chat, voice and video, an AI notetaker, a talent CRM, sourcing and its own ATS.
Does Humanly integrate with Workday?
Yes. Humanly lists Workday among its integrations, along with SAP SuccessFactors, Dayforce, UKG, Oracle Taleo, iCIMS, Greenhouse, Employ and Avature. Paradox also connects to Workday, which completed its acquisition of Paradox in October 2025.
Do Paradox or Humanly publish pricing?
No. Both ask you to request a demo. Price your actual hiring volume, modules and integrations with each vendor and ask for the quote in writing.
Has Humanly been acquired?
No. Humanly is the buyer in its deals. It acquired Teamable in 2024, announced Sprockets, Qualifi and HourWork in October 2025, and GeekWire reported its purchase of Anthill in 2026.
