Humanly alternatives: 6 tools for screening, interviews and frontline hiring

Humanly has bought its way into an all-in-one recruiting suite. Whether you want a different suite or one sharper tool, here's how the alternatives compare.

Before you read on: NTRVSTA wrote this guide and is one of the six Humanly alternatives in it. For every other vendor we used only its own site or official announcements, plus news coverage of deals, and the links are under Sources.

Humanly started as a conversational screening tool and has turned into a suite by acquisition. It bought Teamable in 2024, announced Sprockets, Qualifi and HourWork in October 2025, and added Anthill in 2026, per GeekWire. Today Humanly sells an AI Recruiter, an AI Interviewer, an AI Notetaker, a talent CRM and an ATS, engaging applicants over SMS, email, chat and voice. Buyers look at Humanly alternatives and competitors for structural reasons. Some want a focused tool rather than a suite still absorbing several companies. Some want an interview that adapts to each answer, since Humanly says its interviewer asks everyone the same structured questions. And some want published prices or a named bias audit, neither of which Humanly lists. If you want one vendor across the whole frontline funnel, though, Humanly's breadth is the point.

1. NTRVSTA (us)

NTRVSTA does one part of what Humanly does, and goes deeper on it. Our AI interviewer holds a live conversation as a video avatar or audio only, any hour of the day, and it adjusts both its questions and its difficulty to each answer. That means a follow-up when an answer is vague and a harder question when someone is clearly strong. It covers engineers through an exam library and a system-design whiteboard, and every other role through STAR behavioral questions, soft-skill checks and a hint system. AI resume scoring ranks applicants against the job description, and reports include a score breakdown and video snippets of key moments.

Prices are on our pricing page, starting with a $0 Free Demo plan, and our NYC LL144 audit is on the compliance page. What we don't do: we're not an ATS or a CRM, we don't run SMS engagement or chat scheduling, and we don't take notes on human interviews. High-volume hourly funnels are better served by Humanly, Paradox or Fountain. We integrate with the ATS you keep, including Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Dayforce, UKG, iCIMS, Greenhouse and Oracle Recruiting (Taleo). For a side-by-side view, see NTRVSTA vs Humanly.

Best for: teams hiring skilled, technical or salaried roles who want a deeper first-round interview without buying a whole suite.

2. Paradox

Paradox is the established name in conversational hiring. Its assistant, Olivia, takes applications, asks screening questions, schedules interviews, runs hiring events and handles onboarding over chat and SMS, and Paradox says it detects 100+ languages. It also sells a conversational ATS and a career-site builder,. Workday completed its purchase of Paradox on October 1, 2025. Paradox doesn't describe a live voice interviewer, and prices aren't public.

Best for: large retail, QSR and franchise employers that want the most proven text-based hiring assistant, especially on Workday.

3. Fountain

Fountain matches Humanly's breadth for hourly work but comes with its own ATS at the center. It covers CRM, sourcing, onboarding and shift scheduling, now coordinated by an agent called Cue. Its voice interviewer, Anna, runs short structured interviews by phone or browser, and Fountain's FAQ says it asks clarifying questions and adapts to responses by default. Humans review a score, summary, transcript and recording. Fountain lists SOC 2, and its pricing isn't published.

Best for: frontline employers that want a voice interview that adapts, inside a single hourly hiring platform.

4. HeyMilo

HeyMilo is a point tool for screening, which suits teams that only used Humanly for the front of the funnel. Its agents run two-way voice and video interviews, plus SMS and form screening, in 20+ languages, and explain each score in writing. It auto-scores resumes and adds ID verification and cheat flags. HeyMilo integrates with Workday, SuccessFactors, UKG and iCIMS, all of which also appear on Humanly's list, so a swap may not touch your ATS. Pricing is quoted.

Best for: volume and staffing teams that want to replace Humanly's screening without adopting another suite.

5. Sapia.ai

Sapia.ai keeps the chat format that Humanly began with, but as a structured interview rather than a conversational assistant. Each applicant answers role questions by text, Sapia scores the answers, and results go to ATS platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, iCIMS, Greenhouse and Avature. Sapia lists SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO/IEC 42001 and 27001, and it links an independent bias analysis by BLDS from its homepage, though that page doesn't say the audit was done under LL144. Pricing isn't published.

Best for: enterprise retail and service employers that want every applicant interviewed by text, with certifications to show.

6. Metaview

If the Humanly piece you rely on is the AI Notetaker, Metaview is the specialist. It built its name on interview notes and now offers agents for sourcing, application review, reports and outreach. In September 2026 it launched a voice Screening agent that Metaview says adapts to the role and the candidate's answers and returns a recording, summary and rubric score. Sourcing plans run from $0 to $300 per user a month, and the first 25 screens are free. Its security list includes SOC 2 Type II, and it connects to Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever, Gem and SmartRecruiters.

Best for: corporate recruiting teams that care most about interview notes and want an AI screen alongside them.

When to stay with Humanly

  • You want one vendor for engagement, screening, interviews, scheduling, notes, CRM and ATS, and fewer contracts matter more than best-in-class depth in any one step.
  • Your hiring is mostly frontline or hourly. Humanly's acquisitions of Qualifi and HourWork point directly at phone screening and hourly hiring.
  • Your ATS is on Humanly's list. It names Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Dayforce, Employ, UKG, Oracle Taleo, iCIMS, Greenhouse and Avature.
  • You value identical questions for every candidate. Some teams prefer that consistency to adaptive follow-ups.

Questions

What companies has Humanly acquired?

Humanly announced it bought Teamable in 2024, then Sprockets, Qualifi and HourWork in October 2025. GeekWire reported in 2026 that it also acquired Anthill, an employee engagement startup. Those deals added sourcing, phone and voice screening, hourly hiring and engagement tools to the suite.

Does Humanly's AI Interviewer adapt to answers?

According to Humanly, its AI Interviewer puts the same structured questions to every candidate, whether over chat, voice or video. That favors consistency over adaptive follow-ups. If you want questions that change with each answer, NTRVSTA, HeyMilo and Metaview's Screening agent each describe adaptive conversations.

Which Humanly competitors also sell an ATS?

Paradox sells a conversational ATS, and Fountain is a full frontline hiring platform with its own ATS. NTRVSTA, HeyMilo, Sapia.ai and Metaview are not ATS products; they plug into the one you already use.

Does Humanly publish pricing or a bias audit?

Neither was published on the Humanly pages we checked. Humanly mentions bias mitigation controls and human oversight without naming an audit or certification. NTRVSTA publishes its prices and an NYC Local Law 144 bias audit by Asenion, finalized October 20, 2026.
