Eightfold AI vs Phenom (2026): Features, Pricing and Which to Pick

Both sell a large talent platform with AI agents on top. The differences are in what the agents do, how candidates meet them, and what each suite is built around.

NTRVSTA wrote this Eightfold AI vs Phenom comparison. We make a competing product, so we only use facts from Eightfold AI's and Phenom's own sites and public news, and we include a third option at the end. Both vendors here sell to large enterprises and keep prices private.

Eightfold AI vs Phenom is a matchup that usually comes up inside large companies. Both are enterprise talent platforms, both now sell AI agents that interview candidates, and both keep their prices private. This page lays out what each one publishes so your shortlist conversations start from the same facts.

The short answer

Pick Eightfold AI if your priority is a talent intelligence platform with an AI Interviewer that runs adaptive interviews and comes with a long list of published certifications, including an NYC LL144 audit, FedRAMP Moderate and ISO/IEC 42001. Pick Phenom if you want one suite that also runs your career site, talent CRM and interview scheduling, with a voice agent that phones applicants soon after they apply. Phenom leans toward high-volume, candidate-facing workflows. Eightfold leans toward skills data and heavily regulated buyers, including government.

Where Eightfold AI is stronger

  • Published compliance depth. Eightfold lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018, ISO/IEC 42001, FedRAMP Moderate and DISA IL4, and says the AI Interviewer has a published NYC LL144 bias audit. For public-sector and defense buyers that list matters.
  • More interview types in one product. Eightfold says its interviewer covers screening, functional STAR questions, coding, soft skills and CEFR language checks, and announced a combined "360 Interview" in July 2026.
  • Help for human interviewers too. Its AI Interview Companion joins Zoom, Google Meet or Teams calls, takes notes and drafts feedback with scorecard-aligned ratings.
  • Content-only scoring. Eightfold says the interviewer judges what candidates say, not facial expressions, tone or accent.

Where Phenom is stronger

  • Breadth of the candidate journey. Phenom runs the career site, CRM, scheduling, onboarding and an internal talent marketplace, so the AI agents sit on top of workflows you may already buy from them.
  • Speed to first contact. Its Voice Screening Agent places adaptive screening calls soon after someone applies, by phone or browser, with callbacks.
  • Multichannel outreach. Phenom lists email, SMS and voice. Eightfold's interviewer pages describe invites by link or ATS only.
  • Built-in scheduling. Screens hand off to Phenom's own interview scheduling, so a qualified candidate can be booked without a separate tool.

Pricing compared

There is nothing to put side by side here, because neither vendor publishes a price. Eightfold routes buyers to a demo request, and so does Phenom. Both sell suites where the agents are one part of a bigger contract, so your quote will depend on which modules you take, how many employees or hires are in scope, and contract length. Ask each vendor whether the AI interview agent can be bought on its own, and whether interview volume is capped.

Who should pick which

  • If your security review requires FedRAMP, ISO 42001 or a published LL144 audit for the interviewer, start with Eightfold.
  • If you want candidates called soon after they apply for high-volume roles, Phenom's voice screening is built for that.
  • If you run Oracle Recruiting, Eightfold has an announced integration with it.
  • If you also need a new career site and CRM, Phenom covers more of that in one contract.
  • If you need coding and language assessments inside the same AI interview, Eightfold lists both.
  • If neither suite is in your budget or you don't want a platform project, look at the third option below.

A third option: NTRVSTA

Both products here are large suites. NTRVSTA is agentic AI for sourcing, recruiting and hiring that works inside the ATS and HR systems you already run, without a platform migration. Our agent, Carolina, handles the requisition itself. It is not a workforce-planning or skills-intelligence suite, so if that is why you are looking at Eightfold or Phenom, it won't replace them. Book a demo if the gap you have is getting roles filled.

  • Sources candidates and runs outreach by email, SMS and WhatsApp.
  • Runs live, adaptive AI interviews by video avatar or audio, with an NYC LL144 audit for the interviews on /compliance.
  • Guardrails per action (suggest, ask first or auto); offers always wait for a person.
  • Public prices on our pricing page, from a $0 Starter plan.

Questions

Is Eightfold AI or Phenom cheaper?

Neither company publishes prices. Both sell through demos and custom quotes, so the only way to compare cost is to request proposals for the same scope, headcount and contract length from each.

Do both Eightfold and Phenom run AI interviews?

Yes. Eightfold's AI Interviewer runs adaptive interviews, and its October 2025 launch release named video, audio and text formats. Phenom sells an AI Interviewer that holds real-time voice conversations with an optional avatar, plus a Voice Screening Agent that calls candidates soon after they apply.

Which one publishes an NYC Local Law 144 bias audit?

Eightfold's AI Interviewer page says the product has been independently bias-audited under NYC LL144 with results published. Phenom's pages we checked list SOC 2 Type II and several ISO certifications but no LL144 audit.

Does either one replace my ATS?

Both describe themselves as working with your existing system. Eightfold says its interviewer works directly with your existing ATS and announced an Oracle Recruiting Cloud integration in May 2026. Phenom says its agents work with your system of record.

We checked both vendors' sites on November 1, 2026. Enterprise products change often, so confirm details in your demo.
