The short answer
Both run real-time, adaptive AI interviews and both score resumes, so the gap is mostly about scope and buying style. Choose Eightfold if you're a large enterprise or public-sector buyer that wants an AI interviewer inside a broad talent-intelligence platform, with a long list of security certifications and an Oracle Recruiting integration. Choose NTRVSTA if you want a focused interview tool you can price yourself, starting at $299/mo, with a video avatar or audio interviewer that covers technical and non-technical roles.

How NTRVSTA works
NTRVSTA does one job: the screening interview. It scores and ranks resumes against your job description, then invites the people you choose to a live AI interview they can take 24/7. You set up each role with its own questions and an interviewer that's either a video avatar (ready-made, or tailored to your recruiter) or audio only.
During the interview, difficulty climbs when answers are strong and eases off when a candidate struggles. Engineers can face exams in Java, Python, C++, JavaScript and more, or a system-design problem on an interactive whiteboard. Everyone else gets STAR behavioral questions and soft-skill exams. A hint system shows how candidates take guidance, and the report breaks the score into technical skills, English proficiency and communication, with video snippets for the hiring manager.
Setup takes a few days for most teams, and NTRVSTA connects to your ATS (Lever and others) instead of replacing it.
How the Eightfold AI Interviewer works
Eightfold launched its AI Interviewer on October 8, 2025. It describes a 24/7 agent that runs adaptive interviews by video, audio or text, sent by link or from the ATS. Interview types include screening, functional interviews using STAR, coding, soft skills and CEFR-based language assessments, and you can combine them into one "360 Interview." Eightfold says it evaluates only the content of answers, not facial expressions, tone or accent, and that recruiters make the decisions. It lists support for 22+ languages in its press release and FAQ and 24+ on its homepage.
The interviewer is part of Eightfold's broader Talent Intelligence Platform, which also includes an AI Interview Companion for human-led interviews. Eightfold announced an Oracle Fusion Cloud Recruiting integration on May 7, 2026. On July 15, 2026 it announced a digital-human Avatar and the 360 Interview, with general availability expected at the end of July; we couldn't independently confirm the release.
Eightfold publishes a deep compliance list: SOC 2 Type II, ISO/IEC 42001, ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018, FedRAMP Moderate, DISA IL4 and GDPR, plus ID.me and CLEAR identity checks. Customers it names include Vodafone, Citi, HSBC and the U.S. Department of Defense. Separately, Eightfold faces an FCRA class action, Kistler v. Eightfold AI, filed in January 2026 in the Northern District of California. The case concerns candidate Match Scores, not the AI Interviewer, and a motion to dismiss was pending when we checked.
When Eightfold is the better choice
- You run Oracle Recruiting and want an AI interviewer with an announced native integration.
- Your procurement team needs FedRAMP Moderate, DISA IL4 or ISO/IEC 42001, which Eightfold lists.
- You want the interviewer inside a broader talent-intelligence platform, with an AI Interview Companion for your human-led interviews too.
- You need CEFR-style language assessments built into the interview.
NTRVSTA has gaps a buyer at this level should know about. It's a screening layer, not an ATS or talent suite. Our native ATS list is short, and our API is coming soon rather than live. High-volume hourly hiring with SMS apply and chat scheduling fits Paradox or Fountain better, and a Karat-style service fits better if you want humans running interviews. We're also newer and smaller than Eightfold, with fewer published enterprise case studies.
Pricing compared
Eightfold doesn't publish pricing for the AI Interviewer or its platform. Buying is through a demo request and a quote.
NTRVSTA's pricing is public on our pricing section, using per-minute credits (1 for audio, 3 for avatar). The Free Demo is $0 with 50 credits. Starter costs $299/mo for 1,500 credits, or about 30 interviews. Growth costs $699/mo for 4,000 credits, about 80 interviews. Scale costs $1,999/mo for 12,500 credits, about 250 interviews, with priority support and an SLA. Enterprise plans add custom credits, SSO/SAML, a dedicated CSM and on-prem.
Growth works out to about $8.74 per interview at 80 a month, or $0.35 per minute. A 25-minute audio screen uses 25 credits, and an avatar screen of the same length uses 75. Because the prices are public, you can budget a pilot on one role before any sales call.

- If you're a 300-person company that needs a first-round interviewer this month, pick NTRVSTA.
- If you need FedRAMP or DoD-level security documentation, pick Eightfold.

Eightfold sells the AI Interviewer within its Talent Intelligence Platform and doesn't publish standalone pricing. Ask Eightfold directly whether a standalone deal fits your situation.
Does the Eightfold lawsuit involve the AI Interviewer?
The FCRA class action, Kistler v. Eightfold AI, filed in January 2026, concerns candidate Match Scores, not the AI Interviewer. A motion to dismiss was pending when we checked in October 2026.
Does Eightfold have an avatar interviewer?
Eightfold announced a digital-human Avatar on July 15, 2026, with general availability expected at the end of July. We couldn't independently confirm it shipped. NTRVSTA's video avatar is available today, including tailored avatars that match your recruiter.
