NTRVSTA wrote this Ribbon vs HeyMilo comparison. We make a competing product, so we only use facts from Ribbon's and HeyMilo's own sites and public news, and we include a third option at the end. Ribbon's pending sale to Dayforce is stated exactly as the companies announced it.
The short answer
Ribbon vs HeyMilo is a close call on the core job, since both run two-way AI interviews by voice or video and score answers against your criteria. Ribbon is aimed at frontline and high-volume teams (warehouse, retail, hospitality, healthcare) that want to start on their own with a free trial, and it is in the middle of being acquired by Dayforce. HeyMilo targets staffing firms and high-volume employers that want more ways to screen, including SMS and forms, in more languages and across a wide list of staffing ATSs. Your existing systems and your view on the Dayforce deal will likely decide it.
Side by side: Ribbon vs HeyMilo
Where Ribbon is stronger
- You can try it today. Ribbon's homepage offers a 7-day free trial with a "Start for free" button, and anyone can sit a five-minute practice interview on its site. HeyMilo publishes neither.
- A published NYC LL144 audit. Ribbon says it has an LL144 bias audit, last done in 2025, and links the report. HeyMilo claims third-party bias audits without naming the law.
- Outreach built in. Ribbon sends invitations and reminders by email, SMS or WhatsApp, and also sources and rediscovers candidates, so it can fill the top of the funnel as well as screen it.
- Evidence-linked scorecards. Ribbon's docs say each criterion links to supporting quotes and timestamps in the recording.
Where HeyMilo is stronger
- More screening formats. On top of voice and video, HeyMilo screens by SMS and forms, and offers an AI Scenario Assessment where candidates work through a chat task with an AI.
- Staffing ATS coverage. It names Bullhorn, Avionté, JobDiva and Manatal, plus Salesforce, which matters for agencies.
- Language range. HeyMilo says 20+ languages, about double Ribbon's stated count.
- Scheduling after the screen. HeyMilo books calendar time once a candidate passes. Ribbon doesn't publish scheduling.
- No vendor change in progress. HeyMilo is independent and recently funded, so there's no pending acquisition to plan around.
Pricing compared
Neither vendor puts a price on its site. Ribbon's pricing link points visitors to plans that fit their hiring volume but shows no numbers, and the trial is the only published offer. HeyMilo's pricing page is a form that asks for team size, current ATS, hires per month and applicants per month, which suggests volume drives the quote. Ask both how they count usage (per interview, per applicant, per hire) and, for Ribbon, whether contract terms change after the Dayforce deal closes.
We cover each in more depth in Ribbon pricing and HeyMilo pricing.

A third option: NTRVSTA
Ribbon and HeyMilo both do AI screening well for volume roles. NTRVSTA is agentic AI for sourcing, recruiting and hiring that works inside your ATS, and it suits teams that also hire for technical and professional roles where the interview needs to get harder or easier with each answer. For pure hourly hiring with SMS as the main flow, the two above are closer fits. Book a 20-minute demo to see the difference.
- Live adaptive interviews by video avatar or audio, with an exam library for programming languages and frameworks.
- Outreach by email, SMS and WhatsApp, plus resume ranking with reasons.
- Our NYC LL144 audit by Asenion covers the AI interviews; details on /compliance.
- Published plans on our pricing page, including a free Starter plan.

Does Ribbon or HeyMilo have a free trial?
Ribbon advertises a 7-day free trial that you can cancel anytime. HeyMilo does not publish a trial; its pricing page is a demo request form that asks about team size, ATS, hires and applicants per month.
Which one supports more languages?
HeyMilo says its interviews run in 20+ languages. Ribbon says 10 languages in one place and 10+ in another. If you hire in a less common language, ask both for a test interview in it.
