We should say up front that NTRVSTA wrote this page and appears first in it. For every other ModernLoop alternative, we used only what the company publishes, and those links are collected under Sources.
ModernLoop started as interview scheduling for tech companies and, in 2025, added Taylor AI, an always-on recruiter that runs phone screens at volume. When teams research ModernLoop alternatives and competitors, the reasons tend to be specific. iCIMS users notice ModernLoop lists that integration as coming soon. Some want a video interviewer, or proof that follow-up questions adapt, which ModernLoop hasn't published for Taylor. Others want sourcing and outreach, a published bias audit, or a price list they can share with finance. If you mainly need coordinators freed from calendar work, ModernLoop may still be the right call.
ModernLoop alternatives at a glance
1. NTRVSTA (us)
If you came to ModernLoop for Taylor AI, NTRVSTA is the alternative that goes furthest on the interview. Carolina, our agent, runs live AI interviews as a video avatar or by audio, around the clock, and changes its follow-up questions to fit each answer. It handles engineering interviews as well as sales, support and operations roles, and gives hiring managers a score breakdown, video snippets and a shareable report. Our NYC Local Law 144 audit of those interviews, by Asenion, is on the compliance page.
Carolina also does the work before and after: sourcing, email/SMS/WhatsApp outreach, resume scoring with reasons, and booking interviews or panels on your calendar. It connects to iCIMS, Workday, Greenhouse and 60+ more systems. Each action can be set to suggest, ask first or auto. What we don't match is ModernLoop's coordinator queues and interviewer workload balancing. Details are in ModernLoop vs NTRVSTA.
Best for: teams that want the screening and interview stage automated in depth, with public prices and a free plan.
2. GoodTime
If scheduling is the core reason you bought ModernLoop, GoodTime is the obvious comparison. GoodTime says it handles single-day, multi-day and panel interviews with two-way ATS sync, and its agent Cori schedules, reschedules, replaces unavailable interviewers, follows up and advances candidates, escalating anything outside your workflows. GoodTime lists iCIMS among its ATS integrations, along with SOC 2 Type II, ISO 42001 and EU data hosting. It doesn't run AI interviews (it offers an AI notetaker), and pricing is quoted by candidate volume. See GoodTime vs NTRVSTA.
Best for: large TA teams whose biggest cost is interview coordination.
3. Sense
Sense fits teams who like Taylor AI's phone screens but need more engagement around them. Sense says its Voice AI makes real-time calls to prescreen and schedule, producing scorecards and summaries, and the wider platform adds SMS and WhatsApp messaging, a conversational CRM and 1:1, panel and sequential scheduling. It publishes starting prices, from $500 a month for scheduling to $3,000 a month for the AI Recruiter. More in Sense vs NTRVSTA.
Best for: staffing and high-volume employers that screen mostly by phone and text.
4. Tenzo
Tenzo's AI recruiter, Morgan, runs voice AI interviews by phone or video 24/7, along with resume review, fraud detection, scheduling and rediscovery of candidates in your ATS, according to Tenzo. It says it has 57+ bi-directional ATS integrations (list on request) and SOC 2 Type 2, and that a de-biasing layer removes protected-class details from transcripts before scoring. Pricing is a custom quote. Compare in Tenzo vs NTRVSTA.
Best for: staffing agencies and volume employers that want phone and video screens from one agent.
5. hireEZ
hireEZ suits teams whose real gap is candidate supply. Its EZ Agent sources from 1B+ profiles across 45+ platforms, per hireEZ, then ranks applicants, runs conversational AI screens by voice or chat, and schedules through an AI Scheduler that coordinates panels and reschedules within your rules. The Solo plan is listed from $494 a month with a 7-day free trial; enterprise pricing is not published.
Best for: sourcing-heavy teams that want scheduling attached.
6. Phenom
Phenom is the broadest option here. Alongside its career site, CRM and onboarding tools, it offers automated interview scheduling, a Voice Screening Agent that scores answers 1 to 5 against a rubric, and an AI Interviewer that holds real-time voice conversations with follow-ups and an optional avatar. Phenom says ratings are proposals a recruiter accepts or overrides. Prices are not published.
Best for: enterprises that would rather run one large platform than several point tools.
When to stay with ModernLoop
Stay if your coordinators are the bottleneck and your ATS is one ModernLoop already supports, such as Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday or SmartRecruiters. ModernLoop also says it supports Microsoft GCC High, which matters for teams with federal requirements, and Okta or Entra ID SSO with SCIM. If Taylor AI's phone screens already cover your volume roles, the case for switching is weaker.
Where NTRVSTA isn't the right fit: we are newer and smaller than most tools here, with no published case studies yet. We are not an ATS or system of record. And if you would rather have human recruiters run the search, a marketplace such as Paraform or Dover fits better.
