XOR vs NTRVSTA: pay-per-hire hourly recruiting or an AI recruiter inside your stack?

One sells hourly hires at a flat fee per hire. The other is an AI recruiter that works inside the systems you already run. Here's how to tell which you need.

Full disclosure: NTRVSTA wrote this XOR vs NTRVSTA comparison, and we make one of the two products. We kept every claim about XOR to what XOR publishes on its own site, and the links are under Sources so you can check them.

The short answer

Choose XOR if you hire blue-collar and hourly workers and want candidates delivered at a flat $500 per hire, with XOR handling the attraction, prescreening and calendar booking. Choose NTRVSTA if you want an AI recruiter, Carolina, that works inside your current ATS and calendar, sources and contacts candidates, scores resumes, and runs live AI interviews for technical and non-technical roles. XOR works like a candidate delivery service; NTRVSTA is an agent your own team directs.

How NTRVSTA works

NTRVSTA's agent is called Carolina, and we describe her as your AI Head of Talent. Carolina connects to the systems you already run (your ATS, HRIS, payroll, calendar, and Slack or Microsoft Teams) and works there. Give her an open role and she sources candidates, contacts them by email, SMS or WhatsApp, and scores every resume against the job with a written reason for each ranking.

The interview step is live. Carolina talks with each candidate as a video avatar or by audio, adjusts questions to the answers she hears, and covers engineering roles as well as sales, operations or support. Candidates can start at any hour. You get a score breakdown, video snippets and a shareable report. She then books the next round on your calendar, answers pipeline questions in plain English, and sends a morning digest in Slack or Teams.

You decide how much she does alone. Each type of action can be set to suggest, ask first, or run automatically, and offers or pay changes always wait for a person. Most teams are set up within a few days, depending on customization.

How XOR works

XOR sells two things. The first is its AI Recruiter, aimed at blue-collar and hourly jobs. XOR says it attracts candidates through AI digital marketing, its own virtual career fairs and multi-level referral programs instead of job boards, scores them with an algorithm, and books the prescreened ones straight into your recruiter's or hiring manager's calendar. You tell XOR which positions, how many people and where you hire, and it says first interviews arrive in 2 to 5 business days.

The second is a Hiring Platform: text recruiting, text-to-apply, AI chatbots for candidate screening, interview scheduling, virtual career fairs and video interviewing. XOR says it runs in 100+ languages across six continents and claims 35+ integrations. It shows ISO 27001, GDPR and Veracode badges, and we found no published NYC Local Law 144 bias audit. VentureBeat reported an $8.4 million raise in 2019.

When XOR is the better choice

  • You want to pay only when someone is hired, at a fixed fee per hire, and you're filling at least 10 hourly roles.
  • You don't have recruiters to run sourcing yourself and would rather XOR bring candidates from career fairs, referrals and digital ads.
  • Your candidates apply by text and expect a chatbot, not a video interview.
  • A money-back guarantee on unfilled roles matters more to you than control over each step.

Our own limits, plainly: NTRVSTA is newer and smaller than many recruiting vendors, with no published case studies yet. It isn't an ATS or a system of record, so you keep yours. We don't publish a proprietary profile database the way dedicated sourcing tools do. And for very high-volume hourly hiring where SMS apply and chat scheduling are the whole process, Workstream, Fountain or Paradox are built for that.

Pricing compared

XOR's AI Recruiter costs $500 per hire, with a $5,000 minimum covering 10 hires. Its Hiring Platform price isn't published.

NTRVSTA prices by plan, and every number is on our pricing section:

  • Starter: $0, covering a single open role and 10 AI interviews, with no card on file.
  • Team: $490/mo billed annually or $590 month to month, with 60 AI interviews a month, then $12 each, for up to 10 seats.
  • Scale: $1,490/mo billed annually or $1,790 month to month, with 250 AI interviews a month, then $9 each.
  • Enterprise and agencies: per-hire or per-seat pricing, so a per-hire model like XOR's is also an option with us.

An AI interview is one live session of up to 60 minutes, and annual billing saves about 17%. On Team billed annually, the included interviews work out to about $8.17 per interview; on Scale, about $5.96 per interview. The two models measure different things: XOR charges for a filled seat, while our plans charge for the recruiting work itself. Our guide to calculating cost per hire shows how to compare them on your own numbers.

Who should pick which

  • If you need 10 or more warehouse, retail or service hires and want one fee per hire, pick XOR.
  • If you hire across technical and non-technical roles and want a live first interview for each candidate, pick NTRVSTA.
  • If your team has no time to source and wants candidates brought in from career fairs and referrals, pick XOR.
  • If you want an agent that acts inside Greenhouse, Workday or SAP SuccessFactors, with your rules on what it may do alone, pick NTRVSTA.
  • If you need a published NYC Local Law 144 audit for your AI interviews, pick NTRVSTA and read our compliance page.

Questions

How much does XOR charge per hire?

XOR's AI Recruiter page lists $500 per hire for blue-collar and hourly workers, with a $5,000 minimum payment that covers 10 hires. XOR says first interviews come in 2 to 5 business days and offers a money-back guarantee for positions still open after 90 days. Pricing for its Hiring Platform is not published.

Does XOR run AI interviews?

Not in the sense of an AI holding a live conversation with the candidate. XOR lists chatbot pre-screening, text recruiting and video interviewing, and its AI Recruiter books prescreened candidates into your recruiter's calendar for a first interview with a person. NTRVSTA's Carolina runs live, adaptive AI interviews by video avatar or audio.

Can NTRVSTA work for hourly and blue-collar roles?

It can screen and interview hourly candidates, and Carolina reaches people by SMS and WhatsApp as well as email. But if your whole process is text-to-apply, chat scheduling and very high volume, tools built for that flow, like XOR, Workstream, Fountain or Paradox, are a closer fit.

Which ATS systems do XOR and NTRVSTA connect to?

XOR says it has 35+ integrations ready to go, but its partners page shows logos without naming them, so ask XOR for its list. NTRVSTA connects to 70 systems, including Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Indeed and Salesforce, plus a REST API and SFTP.

See Carolina on one of your own roles: book a 20-minute demo, or take a sample AI interview the way a candidate would.
