Full disclosure: we make NTRVSTA, and it's one of the six Tezi alternatives below. Everything we say about other products comes from their own websites, and the sources are listed at the bottom.
Most people looking for Tezi alternatives aren't unhappy with Max. They just can't use it anymore. Headway, a mental health provider platform, acquired the team behind Tezi, announced on March 31, 2026, and Tezi's cofounder became Headway's VP of Engineering. An archived tezi.ai from April 2026 says the team joined Headway to work on AI in mental health care, and when we checked on November 1, 2026, tezi.ai no longer resolved. Max, the agent, is no longer offered. That leaves former Tezi customers needing something that does the same job: source and email candidates, review applications, screen and answer candidate questions, book interviews, and chase hiring managers for scorecards. Max never made rejection decisions, so look for an agent with the same kind of limits.
Tezi alternatives at a glance
1. NTRVSTA (us)
Of the agents here, Carolina is built most like Max: one agent that owns a role from sourcing to scheduled interview, working inside the systems you already use. Carolina sources candidates and runs outreach by email, SMS and WhatsApp, scores and ranks every resume with an explanation, and schedules interviews and panels on your calendar. Hiring managers can ask Carolina about the pipeline in plain English and get a morning digest in Slack or Microsoft Teams, which is close to how Tezi customers worked with Max in Slack.
The big difference is the screen. Max did text-based screening and Q&A. Carolina runs live AI interviews, by video avatar or audio, that adapt their questions to each answer, for technical and non-technical roles, with score breakdowns and video snippets. Those interviews carry a published NYC Local Law 144 audit (see compliance). You set each action to suggest, ask first or auto, and offers and compensation changes always wait for a person. It connects to Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever and more, but it is not an ATS, so Tezi customers who relied on Tezi's built-in ATS will need one. Pricing is public on our homepage, and the first role is free.
Best for: in-house teams that want one agent across the funnel, with interviews included.
2. hireEZ
hireEZ is the most enterprise-shaped replacement. EZ Agent sits on top of your ATS (hireEZ names Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, iCIMS and Greenhouse) and splits the work into agents: sourcing from 1B+ profiles across 45+ platforms, reading and ranking applications, conversational screens by voice or chat using your questions, multichannel sequences and an AI Scheduler that coordinates panels and reschedules. hireEZ's stated rule, "nothing moves forward without your approval," maps well to Max's no-rejections limit. Solo starts at $494 a month.
Best for: enterprise and staffing teams that want sourcing, screening and scheduling under approval gates. See NTRVSTA vs hireEZ.
3. Perfect (GoPerfect)
Perfect calls itself "the autonomous recruiter," and its pitch reads a lot like Tezi's. It says Deep Search researches the market and calibrates with you, Autopilot shortlists and sends multi-step outreach by email, LinkedIn and AI phone call, and it runs a rubric-scored first screen and books the interview. It syncs with 60+ ATS and HR systems, including Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby. Pricing is $300 per open position a month with unlimited seats. Two things to note: there's no free trial (Perfect offers a 15-minute demo on a live role), and outreach steps can send without approval unless you configure approvals.
Best for: teams that want an autonomous agent priced by open role. See NTRVSTA vs Perfect.
4. Pin
If Max mostly filled your top of funnel, Pin is the lighter, cheaper option. Pin says it builds criteria from a job title, matches candidates from 850M+ profiles with an explained fit score, sends sequences from your own inbox, answers candidate questions from a knowledge base, and books calls on your calendar. Each step can be hands-on, co-pilot or full autopilot. It doesn't screen or interview, so you'd run those steps yourself.
Best for: founders and small teams that want sourcing and booked calls with a free plan to start. See NTRVSTA vs Pin.
5. Noon
Noon describes itself as "the world's first autonomous sourcer." It says it builds shortlists from the open web, reaches out in your voice by email and SMS, reviews every inbound application, flags fraudulent candidates, and screens candidates on voice calls scored against your rubric. Activity syncs back to 20+ ATSs so your ATS stays the system of record. Noon doesn't describe its approval controls or publish prices, so ask about both on a demo.
Best for: teams that want inbound review and outbound sourcing from one agent. See NTRVSTA vs Noon.
6. Alfa AI
Alfa AI, based in London, says it runs a role end to end: writes the brief with you, publishes job ads, sources from 800M+ profiles, reaches out, then interviews candidates by audio or video with Lisa, its AI avatar, and returns an evidence-backed fit score. It lists 75+ ATS connections, including Ashby, Greenhouse and Lever. Pricing is demo only.
Best for: UK, European and agency teams that want an AI avatar interview built into sourcing. See NTRVSTA vs Alfa AI.
When to stay with Tezi
There's no staying: Max is no longer offered, and the team has moved to Headway. What you can keep is the way you worked. Before you pick a replacement:
- Pull any candidate data, notes and scorecards out of your ATS history, and out of Tezi's built-in ATS if you used it.
- Write down the limits you relied on, such as "the agent never rejects." Then check each vendor can enforce the same rule.
- Decide where hiring managers should talk to the agent (Slack, Teams or email) and test that flow in the demo.
- Ask each vendor for its bias-audit status in writing, since Tezi showed an NYC 144 badge.

Questions
What happened to Tezi?
Headway, a mental health provider platform, acquired the team behind Tezi, announced on March 31, 2026. Tezi's cofounder Raghavendra Prabhu became Headway's VP of Engineering, and an archived copy of tezi.ai from April 2026 says the team joined to work on AI in mental health care. Tezi's recruiting agent, Max, is no longer offered, and tezi.ai did not resolve when we checked on November 1, 2026.
Which Tezi alternative is the closest match to Max?
Max sourced, emailed candidates, screened applicants, answered their questions and scheduled interviews, while hiring managers worked with it in Slack. hireEZ, Perfect and NTRVSTA each cover sourcing, outreach, screening and scheduling. hireEZ and Perfect run AI phone screens; NTRVSTA runs live AI interviews by video avatar or audio and posts a daily digest in Slack or Teams.
I used Tezi's built-in ATS. What now?
You need an ATS before you need an agent. Most tools on this list, including NTRVSTA, hireEZ, Perfect, Pin and Noon, sit on top of an ATS rather than replacing one. Pick the system of record first, then connect an agent to it.
Did Tezi have an NYC bias audit, and do the alternatives?
The archived Tezi site showed an NYC 144 badge and said it was third-party audited for bias. Among the alternatives here, NTRVSTA publishes an NYC Local Law 144 audit by Asenion for its AI interviews, finalized October 20, 2026. hireEZ, Perfect, Pin, Noon and Alfa AI do not publish an LL144 audit in the sources we checked.
Missing Max? Book a 20-minute demo to see Carolina take a role from sourcing to a booked panel, or sit a sample AI interview as a candidate.
We checked status, pricing and features for each product on November 1, 2026. Vendors in this space change quickly, so confirm details directly before you buy.
