Disclosure: NTRVSTA wrote this guide to AI recruiting tools for healthcare, and NTRVSTA is one of the eight picks. We didn't put ourselves first, because several tools here are built for the high-volume hiring that dominates many health systems. Facts about each vendor come from its own published pages, listed under Sources.
TL;DR
Healthcare recruiting software has to handle two very different hiring motions: high-volume hourly roles (aides, techs, support staff) where speed and text messaging win, and scarce clinical and professional roles where sourcing and careful screening matter more. Most health systems need help with both, and few tools are strongest at both.
- Best for SMS and WhatsApp engagement, voice screening and scheduling across health systems and healthcare staffing: Sense
- Best for chat-driven apply and scheduling for frontline roles, especially Workday customers: Paradox
- Best for sourcing hard-to-find clinical and professional talent at enterprise scale: hireEZ
- Best for live, adaptive AI interviews for salaried and professional healthcare roles, inside your existing stack: NTRVSTA (us)
- Best for AI voice recruiting in healthcare staffing agencies: ConverzAI
The picks at a glance
What actually matters when choosing AI recruiting tools for healthcare
Split your requisitions before you compare vendors. Hourly and entry-level roles live or die on speed: the candidate who applied at 11pm after a shift has probably taken another offer by the time a recruiter calls back. Tools that answer instantly by text, screen right away and offer interview times win here. Scarce roles like experienced nurses, therapists or health IT staff are the opposite: the pool is small, so sourcing reach and a respectful, informed conversation count for more.
Next, check reach and language. Many applicants do this from a phone between shifts, and many patient-facing teams are bilingual. Ask whether outreach runs by SMS or WhatsApp, how opt-outs work, and which languages the screening supports. Then check the systems you already run: hospital HR teams often sit on Workday, UKG or Dayforce, and background checks often go through a provider like Checkr. NTRVSTA, for example, connects to Checkr, Sterling, HireRight, Workday, UKG and Dayforce; ask every vendor for its own list.
Finally, be clear about what AI should not do. None of these tools replaces credential and license verification, and none should make the final call on a clinician. Keep a person accountable for each decision, and if you hire in New York City, ask for each vendor's bias audit under Local Law 144. Our healthcare hiring page covers roles we see teams screen first.
1. Sense
Sense says it turns your ATS into a talent engine, with a conversational CRM, SMS and WhatsApp messaging, a chatbot, referrals and automated 1:1, panel and sequential scheduling. Its AI Recruiter is pitched as a team of agents for sourcing, engagement, screening and scheduling that work within recruiter-set guardrails, and its Voice AI places real-time phone screens with scorecards. Sense publishes healthcare customers including HCA Healthcare, Kaiser and Compassus, and names Workday, iCIMS, Bullhorn and others as integrations.
Pricing is published as starting points: from $7,000/mo for talent acquisition teams, from $2,000/mo for staffing teams, and from $3,000/mo for the AI Recruiter. Compare in NTRVSTA vs Sense.
Best for: health systems and healthcare staffing firms that want text-first engagement, voice screens and scheduling on top of their ATS.
2. Paradox (Workday)
Workday completed its acquisition of Paradox on October 1, 2025, and Paradox still runs as its own brand. Its assistant, Olivia, handles applications, screening questions, interview scheduling, hiring events and onboarding over chat and SMS, and Paradox says Olivia detects 100+ languages. Paradox lists healthcare names such as Houston Methodist and Medtronic among its customers. It describes chat and SMS screening, not a voice or avatar interviewer. Pricing isn't published.
Workday is an NTRVSTA integration partner. Teams that use Paradox for frontline volume can still run other roles through NTRVSTA alongside it.
Best for: hospitals and care networks hiring frontline staff at volume, especially on Workday.
3. hireEZ
hireEZ's EZ Agent sits on your ATS and runs sourcing from 1B+ profiles across 45+ platforms, applicant ranking, AI phone and chat screens with your questions, email, SMS and InMail sequences, and an AI Scheduler, with hireEZ saying nothing moves forward without your approval. Its published customers include Kaiser Permanente, UCSF Health and Regeneron. Solo starts at $494/mo; enterprise pricing is quoted.
Best for: health systems that need to find scarce clinical, research and professional talent who aren't applying.
4. NTRVSTA (us)
NTRVSTA ranks fourth here on purpose: we are strongest on professional and salaried healthcare roles (nurse leaders, revenue cycle, health IT, administration, clinical operations) rather than hourly volume. Carolina sources for an open role, reaches candidates by email, SMS or WhatsApp, and scores every resume against the job with a stated reason. It then runs a live AI interview by video avatar or audio that adapts to each answer, available 24/7 and in multiple languages, and books the next round on Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoom or Calendly. Your ATS and HCM stay in place; see NTRVSTA + Workday as one example.
Each action can be set to suggest, ask first or auto, and offers and compensation changes always wait for a person. Our NYC Local Law 144 bias audit by Asenion covers the AI interviews only (details). Plans run from a free Starter to Team at $490/mo billed annually, with Enterprise priced per hire or seat (pricing).
Where NTRVSTA isn't the right fit: for very high-volume hourly hiring with SMS apply and chat scheduling at the center, Paradox, Sense or Fountain are built for that. NTRVSTA doesn't publish a HIPAA attestation, it isn't a credentialing or ATS system, and it is newer and smaller than these vendors, with no published healthcare case studies yet.
Best for: healthcare employers who want fewer recruiter phone screens on professional roles, with a structured interview every candidate can take on their own schedule.
5. HireVue
HireVue's AI Interviewer, launched in June 2026, drafts questions and rubrics from the job description and runs a 24/7 two-way voice interview with probing follow-ups, alongside one-way and live video interviews and assessments. HireVue says its fairness audits cover NYC Local Law 144 and lists AdventHealth among its customers. Pricing isn't published.
Best for: large health systems that want AI screening, video interviews and assessments from one long-established vendor.
6. Ribbon
Ribbon's AI interviewer runs live voice or video interviews that adapt to answers, and it adds sourcing, rediscovery and SMS, WhatsApp and email outreach. Ribbon focuses mainly on frontline roles and says it has an NYC LL144 bias audit, last audited in 2025. Dayforce announced a definitive agreement to acquire Ribbon on October 23, 2026; the deal had not closed at our last check. There's a 7-day free trial.
Best for: frontline healthcare teams that want to trial a live AI interviewer without a sales cycle.
7. Humanly
Humanly engages high-volume applicants by SMS, email, chat and voice, runs structured AI interviews across chat, voice and video, and schedules and ranks candidates. It names Workday, Dayforce, UKG and iCIMS among its integrations and lists Trinity Health, Reid Health and Addus Homecare as customers. Pricing isn't published.
Best for: hospitals and home-care providers that want conversational screening and scheduling across many locations.
8. ConverzAI
ConverzAI's Virtual Recruiter calls, texts and emails candidates, can run screening interviews autonomously, and reactivates people already in your ATS by matching them to open roles. It connects to staffing systems including Avionté, Bullhorn, JobDiva and LaborEdge, and lists HIPAA and SOC 2 Type II on its site. Pricing isn't published.
Best for: healthcare staffing agencies that want an AI voice recruiter working their existing database.

Questions
What is the best AI recruiting software for hospitals?
For large health systems hiring many frontline and hourly roles, conversational tools built for volume, such as Sense or Paradox, are the usual starting point. For hard-to-fill clinical and professional roles, add a sourcing tool like hireEZ or an agent that runs live interviews, such as NTRVSTA.
Can AI verify nursing licenses or credentials?
None of the tools in this guide sells itself as a credentialing system. Use AI to find, engage and screen candidates, and keep license and certification checks in your credentialing process with the issuing bodies.
Do healthcare recruiting tools need to be HIPAA compliant?
Hiring data is usually employment data rather than patient data, but screening can touch health information, for example vaccination status. Ask your counsel which rules apply and ask each vendor what it publishes. ConverzAI lists HIPAA on its site; we didn't find a HIPAA claim on the other vendors' pages we reviewed. This is not legal advice.
Will nurses and aides respond to AI outreach by text?
Many shift workers can't take calls during the day, so text and WhatsApp often reach them faster than email or phone. Keep messages short, say who you are and what the role pays, include an easy opt-out, and hand off to a person quickly when someone asks a real question.
Hiring for professional healthcare roles? Book a 20-minute demo to see Carolina source and interview for one of your open roles, or try a sample AI interview first.
