A note before you read: NTRVSTA wrote this guide, and we sell an AI interviewer, which is a different tool from the ones ranked here. We list ourselves only as an honorable mention, and every fact about other vendors comes from their own published pages, linked at the bottom.
TL;DR
Interview intelligence software records the interviews your team runs and turns them into notes, scorecards and coaching. Metaview and BrightHire lead this category, and both now add an AI first-round screen. If your interviews are mostly technical, look at CoderPad. If you want the AI to run the first round rather than take notes on it, that's a different purchase.
- Best for a modular AI platform with notetaking, sourcing and a voice screen: Metaview
- Best for interview analytics and interviewer coaching across many ATS: BrightHire
- Best for enterprises already on Eightfold: Eightfold AI Interview Companion
- Best for live coding interviews with playback: CoderPad
- Best for structured video interviewing with AI notes in a compliance-heavy setting: VidCruiter
The picks at a glance
What actually matters when choosing interview intelligence software
First, decide what problem you're solving. If hiring managers write thin feedback, or scorecards arrive days late, a notetaker that drafts the scorecard right after the call fixes that. If the real cost is recruiter hours spent on first-round screens, a notetaker won't help much, because a person still has to hold every call. That's where an AI interviewer comes in, and several vendors below now sell both.
Second, check where your interviews happen. Some tools join Zoom, Google Meet and Teams. Others work inside their own video or coding room. Ask how the tool links each recording to the right candidate and job in your ATS, and whether feedback writes back automatically. Our guide to the best structured interview software covers the scorecard side in more depth.
Third, look at trust. Candidates should know they're being recorded. Ask about consent prompts, data retention, who can see recordings, and whether any AI scoring has had a bias audit. If you hire in New York City and the tool scores candidates, read our NYC Local Law 144 guide before you switch it on.
1. Metaview
Metaview built its name as an interview notetaker and now calls itself an agentic recruiting platform. It says it offers modular AI agents for sourcing, application review, screening, interview notes, reports and outreach. Its Screening agent, launched September 9, 2026, holds an on-demand two-way voice conversation that Metaview says adapts to the role and to each answer, and returns a recording, summary and rubric score. Humans make the decision.
Metaview lists Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever, Gem and SmartRecruiters as ATS integrations and SOC 2 Type II. Sourcing plans are public ($0, $100 and $300 per user a month), the first 25 AI screens are free, and the full platform is custom priced. Metaview raised a $60M Series C on September 30, 2026. Our NTRVSTA vs Metaview comparison covers how its screen differs from ours.
Best for: recruiting teams that want AI notetaking, sourcing and a voice screen from one modular vendor.
2. BrightHire
BrightHire says it records and transcribes interviews, writes AI notes, scorecards and candidate summaries, and coaches interviewers. Zoom closed its acquisition of BrightHire in December 2025. BrightHire still runs as its own brand and says it stays platform-agnostic across Zoom, Google Meet and Teams. Its integration list is long: Greenhouse, Ashby, Workday, iCIMS, Lever, SmartRecruiters, Bullhorn and more.
BrightHire Screen adds what the company calls an always-on AI interviewer: an asynchronous two-way voice or video screen with follow-ups generated from the job description. BrightHire says Screen has undergone an independent AI bias audit and supports 30+ languages. It lists SOC 2 Type 2. Prices aren't published.
Best for: teams that want deep analytics and coaching on human interviews, especially Zoom-centric companies.
3. Eightfold AI Interview Companion
Eightfold says its AI Interview Companion runs during human-led calls on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams. It transcribes, takes notes and sends prompts by chat, then drafts feedback with pre-filled notes and ratings aligned to the scorecard for the interviewer to review. Eightfold says that feedback can sync back to the ATS where configured.
The Companion sits inside Eightfold's Talent Intelligence Platform, next to its separate AI Interviewer. Eightfold lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO/IEC 42001 and FedRAMP Moderate. Pricing isn't published.
Best for: large enterprises already using, or buying, the Eightfold suite.
4. HireVue
HireVue's platform includes live video interviews with a co-pilot for Zoom and Teams, alongside one-way video, assessments and its voice AI Interviewer launched in June 2026. For a team that wants one vendor for human interviews and AI screening, that breadth is the draw. HireVue lists SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO/IEC 27001 and says its fairness audits cover NYC Local Law 144. Pricing isn't published.
Best for: enterprises that want interview support, AI screening and assessments under one contract.
5. Humanly
Humanly started in conversational screening for high-volume roles and has grown by acquisition. It now lists an AI Notetaker for live interviews next to its AI Recruiter, AI Interviewer, Talent CRM and ATS. Its AI Interviewer runs structured chat, voice and video interviews and, in Humanly's words, asks every candidate the same structured questions. ATS partners include Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, iCIMS and UKG. Pricing isn't published.
Best for: high-volume and frontline employers that want notes on live interviews plus automated screening and scheduling.
6. CoderPad
For engineering interviews, the intelligence you want is often the code itself. CoderPad says its Interview product is live collaborative coding with playback, so reviewers can replay how a candidate built a solution. Its Frontier Lite plan ($1,000/mo, annual) adds Claude Code and Codex in the pad plus AI summaries, so interviewers can see a candidate's prompts and edits. Starter is $80/mo billed annually, and there's a free trial with no credit card.
Best for: engineering teams that want replayable live coding interviews rather than call transcripts.
7. VidCruiter
VidCruiter says it offers live and pre-recorded video interviews, structured interview guides, scheduling, reference checks and an ATS. Its AI generates notes, summaries and transcripts in English and French, scores pre-recorded answers against rubrics, and auto-builds interview guides. VidCruiter describes these tools as assistive, not autonomous, and lists a fully autonomous AI Interviewer as coming soon. It lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001. Pricing isn't published.
Best for: enterprise and public-sector teams that run structured, panel-style video interviews with humans in charge.
Honorable mention: NTRVSTA (us)
NTRVSTA isn't interview intelligence. It doesn't sit in on calls your team runs. Instead, its AI interviewer runs the first-round interview itself, live, as a video avatar or by audio, and adjusts difficulty to each answer. Afterward you get a score breakdown, video snippets of key moments, and a shareable report, which covers much of what teams buy a notetaker for at the first-round stage.
Where NTRVSTA isn't the right fit: if your goal is better notes and coaching on interviews that people run, pick a tool above. NTRVSTA is a screening layer, not an ATS, its native ATS list (Lever and others) is short, and its public API is still coming soon. Plans are public from $299/mo, with a $0 Free Demo.
Best for: teams that would rather replace first-round calls with a live, adaptive AI interview than record them.

Questions
What does interview intelligence software do?
It joins the interviews your people run, records and transcribes them, and turns them into notes, scorecard drafts and summaries. Better tools also coach interviewers and show patterns across many interviews. The human still runs the conversation.
Is interview intelligence the same as an AI interviewer?
No. Interview intelligence supports a human interviewer. An AI interviewer runs the interview itself. Metaview and BrightHire now sell both: a notetaker for human interviews and an AI screen for the first round.
Do candidates have to agree to be recorded?
Recording and consent rules differ by place, so check with your counsel. BrightHire says it uses a consent-first design. Whatever tool you pick, tell candidates up front that the interview is recorded and why.
How much does interview intelligence software cost?
Most vendors here don't publish notetaker prices. Metaview publishes sourcing plans from $0 to $300 per user a month and gives the first 25 AI screens free. CoderPad's Frontier Lite plan, which adds AI summaries, is $1,000/mo billed annually.
