NTRVSTA vs Metaview: notetaker-plus-agents or a dedicated AI interviewer?

Metaview grew from interview notes into a recruiting agent platform. Here's how its new screening agent compares with a dedicated AI interviewer.

We should say this first: NTRVSTA wrote this comparison, and we compete with Metaview on AI screening. The Metaview facts below come from Metaview's site, pricing page, screening page and blog, plus two news reports on its funding, all linked in Sources.

The short answer

Metaview is best known as an AI notetaker for human interviews, and it now sells a set of recruiting agents, including a voice Screening agent launched in September 2026. Choose Metaview if you want notes for your human interviews, AI sourcing and an AI voice screen from one vendor, with Greenhouse, Ashby and Lever connections ready. Choose NTRVSTA if you want a dedicated interviewer that candidates can see as a video avatar or hear as audio, with adaptive difficulty, a technical exam library and a published NYC Local Law 144 audit.

How NTRVSTA works

NTRVSTA's single focus is the interview your human team doesn't have time for. Candidates open a link at any hour and talk with an AI interviewer, shown as a video avatar or heard as audio. It probes harder when answers are strong and steps back when they aren't, so each session finds the candidate's level instead of reading a list.

For engineers there are exams in languages, frameworks, AI/ML and DevOps tools, and a whiteboard for system design. For everyone else there are STAR behavioral questions and soft-skill exams, with optional hints. You can tailor the avatar to your recruiter, brand the experience, and run it in multiple languages. Resume scoring ranks applicants first, and each finished interview produces a score breakdown (technical skills, English proficiency, communication), video snippets and a shareable report.

How Metaview works

Metaview started as an AI notetaker for human interviews, and it now calls itself an "Agentic Recruiting Platform." It sells modular AI agents for sourcing, application review, screening, interview notes, reports and outreach, plus "fillmore," which it describes as an autonomous recruiting coworker.

The Screening agent, launched on September 9, 2026, runs an on-demand two-way voice conversation that Metaview says adapts to the role and to the candidate's answers. It can include role-plays and questions where the candidate explains or debugs code, and it returns a recording, a summary and a rubric score, with humans making the decision. There's no avatar; video is optional for integrity monitoring. Metaview's screening FAQ says it covers "most major languages," naming English, Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, Hindi and Arabic.

Metaview raised a $60M Series C led by Insight Partners on September 30, 2026, bringing its total to $110M, and it acquired the AI recruiting startup Reval. It lists SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, CCPA, LGPD and PIPEDA, plus SSO, agent audit trails and fraud detection. We didn't find a published NYC Local Law 144 audit. Customers it names include Deel, Affirm, Brex, Riot Games and GEICO.

When Metaview is the better choice

  • Your recruiters and hiring managers run lots of human interviews and you want AI notes and reports on all of them.
  • You want AI sourcing in the same platform, with a free tier and per-seat plans you can see.
  • Your stack is Ashby, Gem or SmartRecruiters, all on Metaview's integration list.
  • You'd like to test AI screening at no cost first. Metaview gives the first 25 screens free.

Now, where NTRVSTA is the wrong pick. We don't take notes on your human interviews; we run the AI interview ourselves. We aren't an ATS, our native ATS list is short, and our API hasn't launched. Hourly, high-volume hiring that runs on SMS apply and chat scheduling belongs with tools like Paradox or Fountain. Teams that want trained humans to do the interviewing should look at Karat-style services. And as a newer company, we have fewer published enterprise case studies than many vendors on this list.

Pricing compared

Metaview publishes per-user prices for sourcing: Free at $0/user/mo (first 100 profiles), Pro at $100/user/mo (200 profiles a month) and Max at $300/user/mo (unlimited). The full Agentic Recruiting Platform is custom-priced. Its September 2026 launch post says the first 25 screens are free, but the paid screening rate isn't published.

NTRVSTA prices by interview minute through credits, shown on our pricing section. Audio costs 1 credit a minute and an avatar costs 3. The Free Demo is $0 with 50 credits. Paid plans are Starter at $299/mo (1,500 credits, about 30 interviews), Growth at $699/mo (4,000 credits, about 80) and Scale at $1,999/mo (12,500 credits, about 250). Enterprise is custom, with SSO/SAML and on-prem available.

By our site's example, Growth at 80 interviews a month averages about $8.74 per interview ($0.35 per minute). A 25-minute interview costs 25 credits in audio or 75 with the avatar.

Who should pick which

  • If you want AI notes on every human interview your team runs, pick Metaview.
  • If you want the first round handled by an AI interviewer candidates can see, pick NTRVSTA.
  • If sourcing is your biggest gap, pick Metaview.
  • If you need a published NYC Local Law 144 bias audit for the screening step, pick NTRVSTA.
  • If you want to try AI screening on a few roles for free, Metaview's 25 free screens and our Free Demo both work.

Questions

Is Metaview an AI interviewer or a notetaker?

Both, now. Metaview built its brand on AI notes for human interviews, and in September 2026 it launched a voice Screening agent that holds a two-way conversation with candidates.

Does Metaview's Screening agent use an avatar?

No. Metaview describes it as a voice conversation, with video optional for integrity monitoring. NTRVSTA offers a video avatar or audio only, chosen per role.

How much does Metaview screening cost?

Metaview says the first 25 screens are free. It doesn't publish the paid screening rate, and the full platform is custom-priced. Its sourcing plans are $0, $100 and $300 per user per month.

Can I use Metaview and NTRVSTA together?

Yes, in principle, since they cover different steps: NTRVSTA can run the AI first round and Metaview can take notes on the human interviews that follow. We haven't published a native Metaview integration, so plan the handoff through your ATS.

Want to hear what an adaptive first round sounds like? Take a sample interview, then book a 20-minute demo to set it up for a real role. Our audit is summarized on the compliance page.
