NTRVSTA vs VidCruiter: live AI interviews or a video interviewing suite?

VidCruiter's AI assists people today, with an AI Interviewer marked coming soon. NTRVSTA's AI runs the interview now.

We built NTRVSTA, and we also wrote this VidCruiter comparison, so keep in mind that our product is one of the two here. We took every VidCruiter fact from VidCruiter's own pages, which you'll find linked at the bottom.

The short answer

VidCruiter is a mature video interviewing suite: one-way pre-recorded interviews, live panel interviews, structured interview guides, reference checks, skills tests and an ATS. VidCruiter says its current AI is "assistive, not autonomous," and its fully autonomous AI Interviewer is listed as coming soon. NTRVSTA's live AI interviewer is available today and adapts to each answer. Choose VidCruiter if you want a compliance-heavy suite where people run the interviews, common in enterprise and public-sector hiring. Choose NTRVSTA if you want AI to run the first round live, with public pricing.

How NTRVSTA works

NTRVSTA has one main job: hold a real-time interview with every candidate so your team doesn't have to run the first round. The interviewer is a video avatar, either ready-made or tailored to resemble your recruiter, or an audio-only voice. It reacts to each answer, raising the difficulty for strong candidates and lowering it for those who are struggling. Candidates take it 24/7 from a link.

Questions come from the role. Technical hires can be assessed on languages like Java, Python, C++ and JavaScript, frameworks such as React, Angular and Node.js, and AI/ML or DevOps tools. System design uses an interactive whiteboard. Behavioral questions use STAR. Hints show who can take guidance. You can brand the interview and run it in multiple languages.

Recruiters get a score breakdown (technical skills, English proficiency, communication), short video snippets of the key moments, and a report to forward. AI resume scoring ranks every applicant against your job description first. NTRVSTA connects to your ATS (Lever and others), and setup takes a few days for most teams.

How VidCruiter works

VidCruiter offers pre-recorded (one-way) video interviews, live video and panel interviews, scheduling, structured interview guides, automated reference checks, skills testing, proctoring, virtual hiring events and its own ATS. It connects to HR systems like Workday, Dayforce, SAP, Oracle, ADP and UKG, and to meeting tools including Zoom, Teams, Google Meet and GoTo.

Its AI features, per VidCruiter, score pre-recorded answers against rubrics, generate notes, summaries and transcripts (in English and French), auto-build interview guides, and detect fraud and deepfakes. VidCruiter's AI statement describes these tools as "assistive, not autonomous." Its site lists an AI Interviewer, described as agentic hiring that runs full candidate interviews on its own, as coming soon. We'd suggest asking VidCruiter for a date if that matters to you.

VidCruiter lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018, GDPR, PIPEDA, CCPA and a VPAT. Named customers include Samsung, UPS, Lindt, US Foods and Elections BC.

When VidCruiter is the better choice

  • You want humans to keep running interviews, with structured guides, rubrics and AI notes to make them consistent.
  • You need a full suite (scheduling, reference checks, skills testing, hiring events and an ATS) from one vendor.
  • You're in the public sector or a regulated industry and need certifications VidCruiter lists, such as SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 or PIPEDA.
  • Your HR stack is Workday, Dayforce, UKG or ADP, all on VidCruiter's integration list.

Here's what NTRVSTA doesn't do. We don't run reference checks, hiring events or panel scheduling, and we're not an ATS. Our native ATS connections are fewer than a suite like this offers, and our API is listed as coming soon. We aren't designed for hourly high-volume hiring with SMS apply; Paradox or Fountain suit that. If you want human interviewers provided as a service, Karat is closer. We're also newer, with fewer enterprise case studies on record.

Pricing compared

VidCruiter doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page leads to a quote.

NTRVSTA's pricing is published on our pricing section. Credits are spent per interview minute: 1 for audio, 3 for an avatar.

  • Free Demo: $0, 50 credits, one interview at a time.
  • Starter: $299/mo, 1,500 credits, roughly 30 interviews, 3 at once.
  • Growth: $699/mo, 4,000 credits, roughly 80 interviews, 5 at once.
  • Scale: $1,999/mo, 12,500 credits, roughly 250 interviews, 15 at once, with an SLA.
  • Enterprise: custom credits, SSO/SAML, a dedicated CSM and on-prem available.

That's about $8.74 per interview on Growth at 80 a month, or $0.35 per minute. When you compare against a suite quote, remember that one-way and live video still need reviewer or interviewer time, which an AI-run interview takes off the table for round one. Our pricing guide explains how to count it.

Who should pick which

  • If your interviews must stay human-led, pick VidCruiter.
  • If you want questions that adapt to each candidate instead of a fixed recorded set, pick NTRVSTA.
  • If you need to see pricing before a sales call, pick NTRVSTA.

Questions

Does VidCruiter have an AI interviewer?

Not today. When we checked on October 27, 2026, the AI Interviewer on VidCruiter's site carried a coming-soon label. What ships now is AI that helps people: rubric scoring of recorded answers, notes, summaries and auto-built guides, all described by VidCruiter as assistive rather than autonomous.

What is the difference between VidCruiter's one-way video and a live AI interview?

In one-way video, candidates record answers to fixed questions and someone reviews them later. In a live AI interview like NTRVSTA's, an AI interviewer talks with the candidate in real time and changes its questions based on each answer.

Is VidCruiter pricing public?

No, VidCruiter's pricing page asks you to request a quote. With NTRVSTA you can see every self-serve tier, starting from a $0 Free Demo and $299/mo for Starter.

Which has a published NYC Local Law 144 audit?

NTRVSTA does: an independent audit by Asenion, finalized October 20, 2026. VidCruiter says its AI screening is built to withstand validation testing and bias auditing, but we didn't find a published LL144 audit.

See a live AI interview, today rather than on a roadmap: book a 20-minute demo, or try a sample interview yourself. Our bias audit is on the compliance page.
