NTRVSTA vs Hireflix: simple one-way video or a live AI interviewer?

Hireflix does one thing on purpose: recorded video interviews. NTRVSTA runs a live AI interview. Here's when simple wins.

Fair warning: NTRVSTA wrote this Hireflix comparison, and we make the other tool in it. Hireflix facts come from Hireflix's own site, linked at the bottom of the page.

The short answer

Hireflix is a deliberately simple one-way video interview tool. You build an interview once, invite as many candidates as you like, and they record answers on any device without an app or an account. Hireflix says it doesn't do live interviews, assessments or scheduling, and its site doesn't mention AI features. NTRVSTA is a live AI interviewer that asks, listens, follows up and scores. Choose Hireflix if you want the cheapest, simplest way to collect recorded answers and review them yourself. Choose NTRVSTA if you want the interview conducted and scored for you, with questions that adapt.

How NTRVSTA works

With a one-way tool, you still do the interviewing work, just later: someone has to watch every recording and judge it. NTRVSTA moves that work to the AI. Candidates start whenever they like, 24/7, and an AI interviewer (on screen as a video avatar, or audio only) runs the conversation in real time. It probes vague answers and adjusts difficulty up or down as it goes.

The interview can test real skills. Our exam library includes Java, Python, C++, JavaScript and more, frameworks like React, Angular and Node.js, AI/ML and DevOps tools, and soft skills such as communication and problem-solving. System design uses an interactive whiteboard. Behavioral questions follow STAR. A hint system shows how people use help. You can brand the experience and run it in multiple languages.

Instead of a stack of videos to watch, you get a score breakdown (technical skills, English proficiency, communication), short video snippets of the moments worth seeing, and a shareable report. AI resume scoring ranks your applicants against the job description. We connect to your ATS (Lever and others), with setup in a few days.

How Hireflix works

Hireflix says recruiters build a one-way video interview once and then invite unlimited candidates. Candidates record their answers on any device, with no app to install and no registration. Recruiters review the recordings and share them with the hiring team.

Hireflix is open about its focus: it says it doesn't offer live interviews, assessments or scheduling. Its candidate experience runs in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Finnish, Polish, German and 10 more languages, per its pricing page. It integrates with ATS tools including Lever, BambooHR, Teamtailor, Recruitee, JazzHR, SmartRecruiters, Workable and Ashby, and offers Zapier, Make, a GraphQL API and webhooks.

Hireflix S.L. is based in Spain, with no acquisition found. It lists SOC 2 compliance, GDPR, SSO, audit logs and automatic video deletion. Customers it names include Veterinary Emergency Group and Skyeng.

When Hireflix is the better choice

  • You're a small team on a tight budget, and $75 a month (billed yearly) for one-way video fits better than a usage-based plan.
  • You want your hiring team to watch every answer themselves, without AI scoring.
  • You value simplicity: one feature, no app for candidates, nothing extra to learn.
  • You want an API or Zapier and Make connections today. Hireflix offers a GraphQL API and webhooks, and our API isn't public yet.

Other spots where NTRVSTA isn't the pick: we're an interview and screening layer, so you keep your ATS, and our native integration list is short. High-volume hourly hiring with SMS apply and chat scheduling is a job for Paradox or Fountain. If you'd like human interviewers, Karat-style services suit that better. And we're a younger company, with fewer published enterprise case studies.

Pricing compared

Hireflix publishes its prices. Small is $75/mo billed yearly, for companies under 50 employees. Medium is $150/mo billed yearly, for 50 to 250 employees. Custom covers corporates, high-volume users and agencies. Both Small and Medium come with a one-month free trial and no credit card.

NTRVSTA's prices are on our pricing section. You buy credits each month and spend them per interview minute (1 for audio, 3 for an avatar):

  • Free Demo: $0, 50 credits.
  • Starter: $299/mo, 1,500 credits, about 30 interviews.
  • Growth: $699/mo, 4,000 credits, about 80 interviews.
  • Scale: $1,999/mo, 12,500 credits, about 250 interviews, with an SLA.
  • Enterprise: custom credits, SSO/SAML, a dedicated CSM and on-prem available.

On Growth at 80 interviews a month, that comes to about $8.74 per interview, or $0.35 a minute. If you're comparing on cost alone, Hireflix is lower. The question is how many recruiter hours you spend watching recordings, which an AI-run interview with scores and highlights is meant to save. Our AI interview pricing guide helps you put a number on that.

Who should pick which

  • If you're a small team with a handful of hires a year, pick Hireflix.
  • If you hire engineers and need technical depth, pick NTRVSTA.

Questions

Does Hireflix use AI?

We found no AI features mentioned on Hireflix's site. It's a one-way video tool: candidates record answers and your team reviews them. NTRVSTA uses an AI interviewer to run and score the interview.

How much is Hireflix?

Per Hireflix's pricing page, Small is $75/mo billed yearly for companies under 50 employees, and Medium is $150/mo billed yearly for 50 to 250 employees. Larger and agency plans are custom.

Does Hireflix have a free trial?

Yes. Hireflix offers a one-month free trial on its Small and Medium plans, with no credit card. NTRVSTA has a $0 Free Demo plan with 50 credits, and anyone can take a sample interview.

Is a one-way video interview worse than a live AI interview?

Not worse, just different. One-way video is simple and cheap, and works when a quick look at each candidate is enough. A live AI interview can follow up and adjust difficulty, which gives more signal on skills but costs more per interview.

Recording into a webcam and talking with an interviewer are two different experiences, and five minutes will show you which your candidates would prefer. Try a sample interview yourself, or book a 20-minute demo with our team. Bias audit details are on our compliance page.
