NTRVSTA wrote this Spark Hire comparison, and we're the other product on the page. Our facts about Spark Hire come from Spark Hire's own website, linked at the end, and we've tried to give it a fair hearing.
The short answer
Spark Hire and NTRVSTA aren't the same kind of tool. Spark Hire is now mainly an applicant tracking system for small and medium organizations, plus standalone one-way video interviews where candidates record answers to questions you set. NTRVSTA is a live AI interviewer that talks with each candidate and adapts as they answer. Choose Spark Hire if you want an affordable ATS or a simple recorded-video screen. Choose NTRVSTA if you want the first-round conversation itself handled, with follow-ups and difficulty tuned to each person.
Side by side: Spark Hire vs NTRVSTA
How NTRVSTA works
In a one-way video, the candidate talks to a camera. In NTRVSTA, the candidate talks to an interviewer. Our AI interviewer, a video avatar or an audio voice, asks a question, hears the answer, and responds to it: probing a vague point, going deeper when someone clearly knows the topic, or stepping back when they're lost. Candidates still take it whenever they like, 24/7, so you keep the scheduling benefit of async video.
Because it can follow up, it can test real skill. The exam library covers programming languages and frameworks, AI/ML and DevOps tools, and soft skills, and system-design questions use an interactive whiteboard. STAR shapes the behavioral questions. A hint system shows how candidates use help. You can brand the interview, choose or tailor the avatar, and run it in multiple languages.
You get a score breakdown for technical skills, English proficiency and communication, video snippets of the moments that matter, and a shareable report. AI resume scoring ranks your applicants against the job description. NTRVSTA works next to your ATS (Lever and others) and takes a few days to set up.
How Spark Hire works
Spark Hire says it's an ATS for small and medium organizations with built-in AI: AI resume review, AI-suggested screening questions and scheduling. It also sells one-way video interviews and a behavioral assessment as standalone products. Its plans also include scheduled live video interviews.
In the video product, candidates record answers to the questions you choose. Spark Hire says its AI then auto-summarizes those responses, scores submissions against key factors you set, and transcribes in 50+ languages. Reviewers watch or skim the results on their own time.
Spark Hire says it integrates with 100+ providers, and its partner page names Avature, Bullhorn, ADP, BambooHR, Ceipal and others. It has no acquisition on record in our research and remains independent. We didn't find a published bias audit or SOC 2 claim on the pages we checked.
When Spark Hire is the better choice
- You need an ATS, not just an interview tool. Spark Hire's Recruit plans bundle tracking, AI resume review and video interviews.
- You want candidates to record answers to the exact same questions, and reviewers to watch them later.
- Your ATS is on Spark Hire's 100+ integration list and not on ours.
- You'd rather pay a flat monthly fee for unlimited jobs and users (Spark Hire's annual video plan) than buy interview minutes.
Some things we can't offer. NTRVSTA isn't an ATS; you'd keep or buy one alongside us. Our native ATS list is shorter than Spark Hire's, and our public API is still "coming soon." For hourly roles at very high volume with SMS apply, Paradox or Fountain are a better fit. If you need humans to run interviews, Karat is the kind of service to look at. We're also a younger company with fewer published enterprise case studies.
Pricing compared
Spark Hire publishes its prices. Its video interview plan starts at $299/mo on monthly billing (up to 5 jobs and 5 users) or $249/mo billed annually (unlimited jobs and users). The behavioral assessment is priced the same way. ATS plans start at $335/mo annually for Recruit Pro (up to 200 employees, video interviews included) and $499/mo for Recruit Growth (up to 500 employees), with Enterprise on quote.
NTRVSTA charges in credits per interview minute (1 for audio, 3 for an avatar), with plans on our pricing section:
- Free Demo at $0 with 50 credits.
- Starter at $299/mo for 1,500 credits, about 30 interviews.
- Growth at $699/mo for 4,000 credits, about 80 interviews.
- Scale at $1,999/mo for 12,500 credits, about 250 interviews, with an SLA.
- Enterprise with custom credits, SSO/SAML, a dedicated CSM and on-prem available.
On Growth, 80 interviews a month is about $8.74 each, or $0.35 a minute. The two pricing models measure different things: Spark Hire charges for access to a recording tool, while we charge for minutes of live interviewing. Our pricing guide walks through that comparison.
Who should pick which
