Disclosure first: NTRVSTA wrote this roundup, and we're one of the six Spark Hire alternatives in it. We stuck to what each company publishes about itself, and we link those pages at the end.
Spark Hire is a long-running name in one-way video interviews, and it now leads with an ATS for small and medium organizations. People look for Spark Hire alternatives for practical reasons. Some only need recorded video and want a lighter, cheaper tool. Some outgrew SMB features and need an enterprise suite. And some want to move past one-way video entirely, toward an AI that holds a live conversation and asks follow-ups, instead of candidates talking to a camera. Spark Hire doesn't describe an AI interviewer, and it doesn't publish a bias audit. If you like having a simple ATS and video interviews from one vendor, it may still be your best fit.
Spark Hire alternatives at a glance
1. NTRVSTA (us)
The biggest difference between Spark Hire and NTRVSTA is who's on the other side of the screen. In a one-way interview, a candidate reads a prompt and records an answer. In ours, an AI interviewer talks with them live, as a video avatar or as audio only, listens to what they say, and changes the next question. If an answer is strong, the difficulty goes up. If it's weak, it eases off. Candidates still take it 24/7 on their own schedule, so you keep the convenience of async video.
NTRVSTA covers technical roles (coding exams, frameworks, system design on a whiteboard) and non-technical roles (STAR behavioral questions, communication, leadership). Reports include a score breakdown and video snippets, and AI resume scoring ranks applicants against the job. On price, Starter is $299/mo for about 30 interviews. Honest limits: we're not an ATS, so if you use Spark Hire's ATS you'd keep it or move to another one, and there's no public API yet. Our NTRVSTA vs Spark Hire page goes deeper.
Best for: teams that want the async convenience of one-way video but a real, adaptive conversation.
2. Hireflix
Hireflix does one thing. Recruiters build a one-way video interview once and invite unlimited candidates, who record on any device with no app or registration. Hireflix says it deliberately skips live interviews, assessments and scheduling, and we didn't see AI features on its site.
Prices are low and public: Small is $75/mo billed yearly (under 50 employees) and Medium is $150/mo billed yearly (50 to 250). There's a 1-month free trial without a credit card, and Hireflix lists integrations with Lever, Greenhouse, Workable and others.
Best for: small teams that want plain one-way video at the lowest cost.
3. Willo
Willo lets candidates answer structured questions on their own schedule by video, written answer, file upload or multiple choice, using 1,500+ ready-made assessments or your own. Its Willo Intelligence layer adds transcripts, summaries, benchmarks and suggested follow-up questions, and Willo describes the approach as "AI-assisted insights, human-led decisions." Willo Verified adds ID, right-to-work and background checks.
Willo Lite costs GBP 49 per live role per month with no contract, and Enterprise starts at GBP 2,999 a year. Willo lists ISO 27001 and 18+ languages.
Best for: UK and EU employers that want async video with identity and right-to-work checks.
4. VidCruiter
VidCruiter is the step up if Spark Hire feels too small. It offers one-way and live panel video, scheduling, structured interview guides, reference checks, skills testing, proctoring and an ATS. Its AI scores pre-recorded answers against rubrics and writes notes and summaries. VidCruiter lists an autonomous AI Interviewer as coming soon. It lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, and integrations with Workday, SAP, Oracle and UKG. Pricing isn't published.
Best for: enterprise and public-sector teams that want a structured, compliance-heavy video suite.
5. Interviewer.AI
Interviewer.AI sits between one-way video and a live AI interviewer. Its Essential plan ($199/mo) is AI-scored one-way video with resume screening, close to Spark Hire's video product. Professional ($399/mo) adds what it calls conversational, avatar-led interviews with dynamic follow-ups. A 14-day free trial is available on paid plans.
Best for: teams that want AI scoring on recorded video now, with an avatar option later.
6. Manatal
If you mostly use Spark Hire as an ATS, Manatal is a low-cost replacement. It's an applicant tracking system that, per Manatal, scores candidates against job descriptions, parses resumes and offers an AI Copilot. A paid AI Interviewer add-on (described as beta in January 2026) runs asynchronous video screens with up to 10 custom questions. Plans start at $15 per user per month billed annually, with a 14-day trial.
Best for: small agencies and SMBs that want an inexpensive AI-assisted ATS.
When to stay with Spark Hire
Spark Hire still makes sense if you want an SMB ATS and video interviews under one roof. Its Recruit Pro plan (from $335/mo, annual) bundles video interviews with AI resume review, and Recruit Growth adds a behavioral assessment. Spark Hire says it connects to 100+ providers and transcribes in 50+ languages. If your process works and your team is happy, the cost of switching may outweigh the gain.

Questions
What's the cheapest Spark Hire alternative?
Among tools here, Hireflix has the lowest listed price at $75/mo billed yearly for teams under 50 employees. Manatal's ATS starts lower per user, but its AI Interviewer add-on is priced separately and isn't published.
Does Spark Hire have an AI interviewer?
Not that we found. Spark Hire's video product is one-way, with AI summaries, scoring and transcription. Live AI interviews are offered by tools like NTRVSTA and Interviewer.AI's Professional plan.
Is a live AI interview harder on candidates than one-way video?
It usually feels more natural, because candidates answer a voice instead of a camera and get follow-ups. It can take a little longer. Try both formats yourself before choosing.
