Full disclosure: this BrightHire comparison comes from NTRVSTA, one of the two companies in it. Facts about BrightHire are drawn from BrightHire's and Zoom's own pages, which we list at the end.
The short answer
BrightHire is interview intelligence: it records, transcribes and summarizes interviews that your people run, and coaches the interviewers. It added BrightHire Screen, an asynchronous AI voice screen, and Zoom acquired the company in a deal that closed in December 2025. NTRVSTA is a live AI interviewer that adapts each question to the last answer. Choose BrightHire if your goal is better notes, scorecards and coaching across a team of human interviewers. Choose NTRVSTA if you want the first-round interview handled by AI, live and adaptive, with prices you can see.
Side by side: BrightHire vs NTRVSTA
How NTRVSTA works
NTRVSTA doesn't sit in your interviews; it is the interview. A candidate opens a link at any time that works for them, and an AI interviewer (a video avatar or audio only) conducts the conversation in real time. When an answer is strong, the next question is harder. When it's thin, the interviewer adjusts down. That gives you a calibrated read on each person before anyone on your team spends an hour with them.
It works for engineers and for everyone else. The exam library spans Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, React, Angular, Node.js, AI/ML and DevOps tools, plus communication, problem-solving and leadership. STAR guides the behavioral questions. Candidates can ask for hints, and system design comes with an interactive whiteboard. Interviews can be branded, customized per role and run in multiple languages.
Each interview yields a score breakdown (technical skills, English proficiency, communication), video snippets of key moments and a shareable report. AI resume scoring ranks every applicant first. We integrate with your ATS (Lever and others), with most teams set up in a few days.
How BrightHire works
BrightHire's core product records and transcribes interviews run by your team on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams. It then produces AI notes, scorecards and candidate summaries, and coaches interviewers. Plans BrightHire lists include Recruiters, Teams and Enterprises, with the top tier adding a REST API and custom ATS integrations.
BrightHire Screen is its AI interviewer, which it calls "always-on." BrightHire describes it as an asynchronous, two-way voice screen (video is optional per role) with follow-up and probing logic generated from the job description. Recruiters get transcripts, summaries, scores and audio playback. BrightHire says Screen runs in 30+ languages and has undergone an independent AI bias audit, and it lists SOC 2 Type 2, GDPR and CCPA.
Zoom acquired BrightHire. The deal was announced November 13, 2025 and closed in December 2025, per Zoom. BrightHire continues as a standalone brand inside Zoom and says it stays platform-agnostic across Zoom, Google Meet and Teams. Customers it names include Canva, Ramp, HubSpot, Duolingo and Zapier.
When BrightHire is the better choice
- Most of your interviews are run by people, and you want them recorded, summarized and turned into scorecards.
- You want to coach hiring managers and see interview analytics across your team.
- Your company runs on Zoom and likes buying from the same vendor.
- You need one of BrightHire's 18 listed ATS integrations, such as Ashby, iCIMS or Bullhorn.
And the places where NTRVSTA isn't right: we don't record or take notes on human interviews, so we're not a replacement for interview intelligence. We're a screening layer, not an ATS, and our native ATS list is shorter than BrightHire's. We don't have a public API yet. High-volume hourly hiring through SMS and chat scheduling fits Paradox or Fountain better, and teams that want human interviewers on demand should look at Karat. We're newer, too, with fewer published enterprise case studies.
Pricing compared
BrightHire lists four offerings (Recruiters, Teams, Enterprises and BrightHire Screen) on its pricing page, but no prices. You'll need a quote for each.
NTRVSTA's plans are public on our pricing section. We sell credits, and each interview minute uses 1 credit on audio or 3 with an avatar.
- Free Demo: $0 for 50 credits and 1 concurrent interview.
- Starter: $299/mo for 1,500 credits, around 30 interviews.
- Growth: $699/mo for 4,000 credits, around 80 interviews.
- Scale: $1,999/mo for 12,500 credits, around 250 interviews, with an SLA.
- Enterprise: custom, with SSO/SAML, a dedicated CSM and on-prem available.
At 80 interviews a month on Growth, the cost is roughly $8.74 per interview or $0.35 per minute. Since the two products solve different problems, some teams budget for both: AI for the first round, interview intelligence for the human rounds that follow. Our AI interview pricing guide helps with that math.
Who should pick which
- If you want better notes and scorecards from interviews your team already runs, pick BrightHire.

- If you're a Zoom shop and want interview tooling from Zoom, pick BrightHire.
- If you hire engineers and want coding and system-design topics in the first round, pick NTRVSTA.
- If you want both, use NTRVSTA for round one and BrightHire for the human rounds after it.
