Best multilingual interview software in 2026

Eight tools that run an AI interview in multiple languages, with each vendor's published language claim and what to test before you trust it.

Before we start: NTRVSTA wrote this guide, and our AI interviewer is one of the eight tools in it. NTRVSTA interviews can run in multiple languages, but we don't publish a language count, so we've ranked ourselves sixth on this list. Vendor facts come from each company's own site, with links at the end.

TL;DR

Good multilingual interview software runs the whole AI interview in multiple languages, not just the invite email, and scores each answer on substance. For live voice interviews in the most published languages, start with Tenzo, Alex or BrightHire Screen. For enterprise programs, look at Eightfold. For chat-based frontline screening across many languages, Paradox is the long-standing choice.

  • Best for the widest published language count among voice AI interviewers: Tenzo
  • Best for a full AI recruiter with fraud and ID checks in many languages: Alex
  • Best for interview intelligence plus a multilingual async screen: BrightHire
  • Best for enterprise programs that also test language level: Eightfold
  • Best for chat and SMS screening that auto-translates: Paradox (Olivia)

What actually matters when choosing multilingual interview software

A big language count is a starting point, not proof. Vendors count differently. Some count languages the interface is translated into, some count languages the AI can transcribe, and a few count languages the AI can actually hold a scored, two-way interview in. Ask which one each number means, and get the list of languages for the interview itself.

Then test the languages you actually hire in, with real people. Have a fluent colleague take the interview with a regional accent, give a weak answer on purpose, and see if the follow-up makes sense. Check the transcript and the score. If the AI scores the same answer lower in one language than another, you have a fairness problem, and in New York City possibly a legal one. Our guide to how AI interviews are scored explains what to look for.

Last, separate language skill from job skill. If a role needs fluent English, test that on purpose and report it on its own line. If it doesn't, let candidates interview in the language they're strongest in and score the substance.

1. Tenzo

Tenzo's AI recruiter, Morgan, runs 24/7 voice AI interviews by phone or video, and Tenzo says it supports 40+ languages, the largest count among the live voice interviewers in our research. It also handles resume review, fraud detection, scheduling and ATS rediscovery, with 57+ two-way ATS integrations. Tenzo says a de-biasing layer strips protected-class information from transcripts before evaluation, and candidates can opt out of the AI interview. Pricing is a custom quote.

Best for: staffing agencies and high-volume employers hiring across many languages.

2. Alex

Alex (formerly Apriora) says it supports 30 languages across an always-on first-round interview by phone or video, plus SMS and WhatsApp. It screens resumes, scores applications for fraud risk, books qualified candidates onto calendars, and offers proctoring and an ID-to-selfie check. Alex says it has 33+ ATS integrations and lists global firms such as EY and Randstad among customers. Pricing isn't published.

Best for: global staffing firms and enterprises that need fraud and identity checks in every market.

3. BrightHire

BrightHire's pricing page says Screen supports 30+ languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, Japanese, Hindi and Turkish. Screen is an asynchronous two-way AI interview by voice or video, with follow-ups generated from the job description. BrightHire's core product records and summarizes human interviews. Zoom closed its acquisition of BrightHire in December 2025. Pricing isn't published.

Best for: teams that want interview intelligence and a multilingual first-round screen from one vendor.

4. Eightfold AI Interviewer

Eightfold says its AI Interviewer supports 22+ languages in its launch materials and 24+ on its homepage. It runs adaptive interviews by video, audio or text, and it can add a CEFR language assessment, which is useful when you need to measure language level on purpose. Eightfold says its AI Interviewer has been bias-audited under NYC Local Law 144, and it lists ISO/IEC 42001 and SOC 2 Type II. Customers include Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom and Mercado Libre. Pricing isn't published.

Best for: global enterprises that want multilingual AI interviews plus formal language testing in one suite.

5. HeyMilo

HeyMilo says its AI agents screen candidates through two-way voice and video interviews, SMS and forms, 24/7, in 20+ languages. It scores answers against your criteria with written reasoning, auto-scores resumes and flags possible cheating. It integrates with a long list of ATS, including Workday, Bullhorn, Teamtailor and Jobylon, which suits teams hiring in Europe. Pricing isn't published.

Best for: staffing firms and international employers that want voice, video and text screening in many languages.

6. NTRVSTA (us)

NTRVSTA's AI interviewer runs live, as a video avatar or by audio, and interviews can run in multiple languages. What sets it apart is depth: the interview adapts its questions and difficulty to each answer, covers technical topics (programming languages, frameworks, system design on a whiteboard) and non-technical ones (STAR behavioral questions, communication, leadership), and reports English proficiency as its own score next to technical skills and communication. That last point helps when you hire globally for English-speaking teams.

Where NTRVSTA isn't the right fit: we don't publish a language list, so if you need a specific language confirmed in writing before you buy, ask us first, or choose a vendor above with a published list. NTRVSTA is a screening layer, not an ATS, and its public API is coming soon. Pricing is public, from $299/mo.

Best for: global teams hiring engineers and professionals who want an adaptive interview and a separate English proficiency score.

7. Paradox (Olivia)

Paradox says its assistant Olivia detects 100+ languages and auto-translates messages, across chat and SMS apply, screening questions and interview scheduling. That's a different job from a spoken interview, but for frontline employers with applicants who speak many languages, it removes a lot of friction early. Workday completed its acquisition of Paradox on October 1, 2025. Pricing isn't published.

Best for: large frontline employers that screen and schedule by text in many languages.

8. Willo

Willo is one-way video, not an AI interviewer, but its pricing page says it supports 18+ languages. Candidates answer structured questions on their own schedule by video, text, upload or multiple choice, and Willo Intelligence adds transcripts and summaries for a human reviewer. It also offers ID and right-to-work checks. Lite is GBP 49 per live role per month.

Best for: UK and EU employers that want async video screening in several languages without a sales cycle.

Questions

Which AI interview tool supports the most languages?

By published counts in our research, Paradox says Olivia detects 100+ languages for chat and SMS, and among voice interviewers Tenzo says 40+, BrightHire Screen 30+ and Alex 30. Counts aren't measured the same way, so test the specific languages and accents you hire in.

Is it fair to score candidates who interview in a second language?

Only if language isn't what you're testing by accident. Let candidates interview in the language the job uses, score the substance of answers, and report language skill separately when it matters. Eightfold, for example, offers a separate CEFR language assessment.

Can one interview switch languages halfway through?

Vendors handle this differently, and most of the pages we checked don't say. Paradox says Olivia detects the candidate's language and auto-translates messages. For voice interviews, ask the vendor directly and test it yourself before you promise it to candidates.

Do I need separate rubrics for each language?

Keep one rubric per role, based on the job, and make sure the questions mean the same thing in every language. Have a fluent reviewer check translated questions and a sample of scored interviews in each language before you scale.
