We wrote this list at NTRVSTA, and NTRVSTA is on it, so weigh our ranking with that in mind. Each of the AI interview tools for SmartRecruiters below earned its place because the vendor itself lists SmartRecruiters as an integration. We link every one of those pages in the Sources section.
TL;DR
The SmartRecruiters AI interview market splits three ways: live AI interviewers that talk with candidates (NTRVSTA, Metaview, HeyMilo, Ribbon), chat or async screens (Sapia.ai, BrightHire Screen), and recorded video (Hireflix). Choose the format first, then the vendor.
- Best for live, adaptive interviews across every kind of role, with public pricing: NTRVSTA (us)
- Best for a voice screen plus AI interview notes: Metaview
- Best for text interviews on mobile at enterprise volume: Sapia.ai
- Best for frontline hiring with a free trial: Ribbon
- Best for basic one-way video on a small budget: Hireflix
The picks at a glance
What actually matters in a SmartRecruiters AI interview setup
Start with the stage you want to automate. Most pipelines have a screening step a recruiter runs by phone, and that's where an AI interviewer earns its keep. Other tools here replace different steps: a chat interview right after the application, a skills test, or notes on the human interviews later on. Mixing them is fine, but buy for one step at a time so you can tell what's working.
Then walk the candidate's path. Does the invite go out when someone moves stages, or does a coordinator paste links by hand? Can the candidate finish on a phone without installing anything? A good setup means the recruiter rarely leaves SmartRecruiters and the candidate barely notices a second system exists.
Finally, ask what evidence comes back and how it's audited. A hiring manager should be able to read a short summary, check the score against a rubric, and replay the moment that mattered. If you hire in New York City, ask each vendor for its published bias audit, not a promise of one.
1. NTRVSTA (us)
SmartRecruiters is one of the ATS platforms NTRVSTA works with. Teams connect the two so a candidate at the screening stage can take an AI first-round interview, and the hiring team can find the result without hunting for it. Setup details are on our SmartRecruiters integration page. Setup usually takes a few days, depending on how much you customize.
In the interview, an AI interviewer (a ready-made or custom avatar, or audio only) asks questions and adjusts difficulty as the candidate answers. Engineers can get questions from an exam library covering Java, Python, React, AI/ML and DevOps tools, plus system design on an interactive whiteboard. Sales, support and operations candidates get STAR behavioral questions and soft-skill checks. A hint system shows how people take guidance. Reports include a score breakdown, video snippets and a shareable summary, and AI resume scoring ranks the applicant pool before anyone is invited.
Plans are public: Starter at $299/mo covers about 30 interviews, and Growth at $699/mo about 80. Where NTRVSTA isn't the right fit: it's an interview layer, not a replacement for SmartRecruiters, and it's newer and smaller than enterprise incumbents, with fewer published enterprise case studies. Teams that need chat-based scheduling for hourly roles should look at Sapia.ai or Ribbon below.
Best for: SmartRecruiters teams hiring a mix of technical and business roles who want one interviewer for both.

2. Metaview
Metaview's published integrations are short and focused: Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever, Gem and SmartRecruiters. It started as an interview notetaker and now calls itself an agentic recruiting platform, with agents for sourcing, application review, screening, notes and outreach. Its Screening agent, launched September 9, 2026, holds an on-demand voice conversation that Metaview says adapts to the role and each answer, and can include role-plays or code to explain. A human makes the decision.
Metaview's $60M Series C, led by Insight Partners, came on September 30, 2026. The first 25 AI screens are free; paid screening rates and full-platform pricing aren't published.
Best for: SmartRecruiters teams that want AI notes on human interviews and an AI voice screen from the same vendor.
3. HeyMilo
SmartRecruiters is on HeyMilo's integration list, which also covers Workday, iCIMS, SuccessFactors and UKG. HeyMilo says its agents run interactive, adaptive voice and video interviews, alongside SMS and form screening and automatic resume scoring. Employers can set dealbreaker questions that disqualify automatically. For integrity, HeyMilo combines AI-answer detection, proctoring for off-screen glances and extra voices, and voice biometrics into a trust score for each candidate. Pricing isn't published.
Best for: high-volume SmartRecruiters employers that want screening across voice, video and text with fraud checks built in.
4. BrightHire
BrightHire's integrations page names SmartRecruiters among almost 20 systems. BrightHire is mainly interview intelligence: it records and transcribes the interviews your team runs, drafts notes and scorecards, and coaches interviewers. BrightHire Screen is its always-on AI interviewer. It's asynchronous, by voice with optional video, and generates follow-ups from the job description. BrightHire says Screen has had an independent AI bias audit, and it lists SOC 2 Type 2. Zoom closed its BrightHire acquisition in December 2025. Pricing isn't published.
Best for: SmartRecruiters teams that care most about consistent human interviews and want an async AI screen as an extra.
5. Sapia.ai
Sapia.ai lists SmartRecruiters among its integrations, with Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, iCIMS and Avature. It builds each role's interview in a Job Analysis Studio, runs a structured text chat with every applicant, and pushes results back to the ATS. There's no voice or video interviewer. Sapia says it has assessed 10M+ candidates and has run AI interviews since 2018, and it lists SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO/IEC 42001. Pricing isn't published.
Best for: enterprise and retail SmartRecruiters customers who want every applicant interviewed by text on a phone.
6. Ribbon
Ribbon names SmartRecruiters among 60+ ATS. Candidates do voice or video interviews on their own time from a phone or browser, Ribbon scores them on a role rubric, and recruiters review the recording, transcript, summary and scorecard together, with quotes and timestamps linked to each criterion. Dayforce announced plans to acquire Ribbon on October 23, 2026; the deal was pending when we checked. Pricing isn't published, and there's a 7-day free trial.
Best for: frontline-heavy SmartRecruiters teams that want to try an AI interviewer this week.
7. Glider AI
Glider AI lists SmartRecruiters with Workday, iCIMS, Greenhouse and staffing systems like Bullhorn. It's a skills and integrity platform more than an interviewer: assessments and coding simulations, AI voice phone screens, AI and one-way video interviews, ID verification and AI proctoring. Findem announced it would acquire Glider AI on March 19, 2026. Pricing isn't published.
Best for: enterprises that need verified skills and identity, especially for contractor hiring.
8. Hireflix
Hireflix lists SmartRecruiters among its ATS integrations and also offers Zapier, Make, a GraphQL API and webhooks. It does one thing: one-way video interviews that candidates record on any device without an app or registration. No AI features appear on its site. Small is $75/mo and Medium $150/mo, billed yearly, each with a one-month free trial.
Best for: smaller SmartRecruiters teams that want recorded answers before a phone call, at a low price.

Questions
Does SmartRecruiters include its own AI interviewer?
This guide covers third-party vendors only. SmartRecruiters' own features change, so ask your account team what your contract includes today. Every tool above names SmartRecruiters on its own site as an integration, so you can add one now either way.
Which of these tools is a live AI interviewer?
NTRVSTA, Metaview, HeyMilo and Ribbon describe interviews that respond to what the candidate says. BrightHire Screen asks follow-ups but runs asynchronously. Sapia.ai interviews by text chat, Glider AI mixes screens, tests and video, and Hireflix is one-way video with no AI. Our one-way vs live guide explains the difference.
How long does setup take with SmartRecruiters?
It depends on the vendor and how your SmartRecruiters account is configured. NTRVSTA says most teams are running within a few days, depending on customization. For the others, ask for a written timeline and whether your SmartRecruiters admin must approve the connection.
Which vendors publish a bias audit?
Ribbon says it has an NYC Local Law 144 bias audit and links the report. Sapia.ai links an independent disparate impact analysis of its chat interview. BrightHire says Screen has had an independent AI bias audit. NTRVSTA's audit by Asenion was finalized on October 20, 2026 and is on our compliance page. Ask the rest directly.
Thinking about an AI first round inside your SmartRecruiters pipeline? Book a 20-minute demo and bring a real job description, or try a sample interview yourself first. Costs per interview are on our pricing page.
Every integration claim, price and feature above was checked in October 2026. Vendors update integration lists and plans often, so confirm SmartRecruiters support with each one before you buy.
