NTRVSTA REST API and SFTP: Custom AI Interview Integrations

When your stack includes an in-house system or a tool not on our list, the REST API and SFTP let you build the connection you need.

NTRVSTA connects with many ATS, HR, data and productivity tools out of the box. Some companies need more: an in-house applicant system, a staffing platform built on its own database, or IT rules that say vendor data arrives as files. For those cases, NTRVSTA offers a REST API and SFTP. This page explains what each one is for and how setup works.

What the REST API and SFTP integration does

The REST API lets your engineers build custom workflows between NTRVSTA and your own systems. Typical goals are connecting AI interviews to an internal hiring tool, or bringing interview results into a product or portal you've built. We describe it here at the level of capability; the technical details are shared with your team during setup.

SFTP is for bulk file transfer. Many HR and IT teams already exchange candidate and employee files with vendors over SFTP, and they want hiring data to follow the same path their security team has already approved.

How teams use NTRVSTA with the REST API and SFTP

  • In-house ATS or hiring portals. Companies with their own applicant systems connect AI first-round interviews and AI resume scoring to the tool their recruiters already use.
  • Staffing and RPO platforms. RPO providers and agencies bring interview scores and shareable candidate reports into the platforms they run for clients.
  • Bulk candidate loads. Teams hiring at scale move large candidate lists in and interview results out as files, which suits campus seasons or big project hiring.
  • Custom reporting. Data teams pull score breakdowns (technical skills, English proficiency, communication) into their own reporting where a warehouse connector isn't the right fit.
  • Tools not on our list. If you use a system without a ready-made NTRVSTA integration, the API or SFTP is usually the way to connect it.

Before you build, check whether a ready-made connection already covers your need. NTRVSTA integrates with ATS, HRIS, payroll, calendar, messaging, sourcing, spreadsheet and data warehouse tools, and those connections take less effort to maintain than custom code. Use the API or SFTP where your process is truly your own.

Setting it up

The NTRVSTA team works with your engineers or IT team to plan the build. For most teams, setup takes a few days, depending on customization. You'll need someone on your side who owns the receiving system, such as a developer for API work or an IT admin for SFTP.

The best first step is a short call with an engineer in the room. Book a demo and tell us what you want to connect.

About REST and SFTP

REST (Representational State Transfer) is an architectural style for distributed hypermedia systems, introduced in Roy Fielding's doctoral dissertation, which says its central distinguishing feature is "a uniform interface between components." Most modern web APIs follow its ideas. SFTP is the SSH File Transfer Protocol. The IETF draft that describes it says it "provides secure file transfer functionality over any reliable, bidirectional octet stream" and is the standard file transfer protocol used with SSH2.

Questions

Does NTRVSTA have an API?

Yes. NTRVSTA offers a REST API and SFTP for custom workflows and bulk file transfers. Our team shares the details and helps you plan the build during setup.

Should we use the REST API or SFTP?

It depends on the job. The REST API suits custom workflows built by your engineers, while SFTP suits moving files in bulk, which many HR and IT teams already do with other vendors. Some companies use both.

Do candidates need to do anything different?

No. Candidates take the same AI interview from a link either way. The API and SFTP only change how data moves between NTRVSTA and your systems.
