We should say up front that NTRVSTA wrote this iMocha comparison and that NTRVSTA is one of the two tools being compared. Facts about iMocha are limited to what iMocha publishes, and each source is linked at the end.
The short answer
iMocha started as an assessment company and now calls itself a "Skills Intelligence" platform, with an AI interviewer named Tara added to a library of 10,000+ tests. NTRVSTA starts from the interview: a live AI interviewer, on video or audio, that adapts to each answer. Choose iMocha if you're a large enterprise that wants validated tests, workforce skills mapping and an AI interview in one contract. Choose NTRVSTA if the first-round interview is the job you need done, and you want public pricing, AI resume scoring and a published bias audit.
Side by side: iMocha vs NTRVSTA
How NTRVSTA works
NTRVSTA replaces the first-round screen with a live conversation. The candidate chooses a time that suits them, any hour of the week, and an AI interviewer (a video avatar or a voice) asks questions and listens. Each answer shapes the next question. Do well and the interview gets harder; struggle and it eases off, so the score reflects where the person actually tops out.
Instead of a separate test catalog, the skills content lives inside the interview. The exam library covers Java, Python, C++, JavaScript and more, frameworks such as React, Angular and Node.js, AI/ML and DevOps tools, and soft skills like leadership and problem-solving. System design gets an interactive whiteboard, behavioral questions use STAR, and optional hints show how a candidate responds to help.
Recruiters get a score breakdown across technical skills, English proficiency and communication, clips of the key moments, and a report to share with the hiring manager. AI resume scoring ranks every applicant against the job description first. NTRVSTA connects to your ATS (Lever and others) and most teams finish setup in a few days.
How iMocha works
iMocha says it offers more than 10,000 validated assessments covering coding, cognitive ability, domain knowledge and communication. On top of those it sells skills inference and workforce skills intelligence, which map what your current employees know, not only what candidates know. Integrations it lists include Workday, SAP SuccessFactors and Oracle, plus the Lightcast skills taxonomy.
Tara is iMocha's AI interviewer. Per iMocha's product page and help center, Tara greets the candidate after an audio check, asks questions the candidate answers out loud, follows up based on those answers, and scores skills in real time against role profiles. iMocha's pages don't fully spell out whether Tara appears on video or runs as voice only.
iMocha lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001:2022 and GDPR. Its press release says it was named a Representative Provider in a 2024 Gartner report on AI-enabled interview technology. Published customers include L'Oréal, Ericsson, Deloitte, EY and Capgemini.
When iMocha is the better choice
- You want thousands of ready-made tests for candidates and also want to measure the skills of your current workforce.
- Your HR stack is Workday, SAP SuccessFactors or Oracle, and you want a vendor that lists those integrations.
- Your security team needs SOC 2 Type II or ISO 27001:2022 paperwork, which iMocha lists and we don't publish.
- You hire at IT-services scale and want named references like Capgemini or Deloitte.
To be fair about our own gaps: NTRVSTA is an interview and screening layer, so your ATS stays in place. Our native ATS list is short next to the large suites. There's no public API yet; it's listed as coming soon. We aren't built for hourly, high-volume flows with SMS apply and chat scheduling (Paradox or Fountain suit those), and we don't supply human interviewers the way Karat does. And as a newer, smaller company, we have fewer published enterprise case studies.
Pricing compared
iMocha has a pricing page, but no plan prices appear on it, so you'll need a quote.
NTRVSTA publishes every self-serve plan on our pricing section. Credits pay for interview minutes: 1 per minute for audio, 3 per minute for an avatar.
- Free Demo: $0, 50 credits, 1 interview at a time.
- Starter: $299/mo, 1,500 credits, roughly 30 interviews, 3 concurrent.
- Growth: $699/mo, 4,000 credits, roughly 80 interviews, 5 concurrent.
- Scale: $1,999/mo, 12,500 credits, roughly 250 interviews, 15 concurrent, with an SLA.
- Enterprise: custom credits, SSO/SAML, a dedicated CSM, on-prem available.
The math on Growth: 80 interviews a month comes to about $8.74 each, or $0.35 a minute. A 25-minute voice interview uses 25 credits, while the avatar version uses 75. See our pricing guide for how to compare this with per-assessment or annual enterprise quotes.
Who should pick which
